The school System is so flawed and outdated!

The education system is flawed! They've designed it in a way that the schools based in deprived areas do not get the same level of teaching and learning as the schools based in Affluent / Middle-Class areas. They don't want the underprivileged to be educated cos any child who's seen hardship and is educated will go after the government one day to fight for their rights. And, most importantly, Teachers in most parts of the country are vastly overworked and underpaid.

I totally agree with you, I volunteer with Girlguiding and have seen over the years how things have change from what my Guides (10 - 14 year olds) tell me, the behaviours, the bullying, the lack of support, As you say GCSEs aren’t everything, Do what’s best for your kids

100% agree , to much emphasis put on gcse marks , and the poor kids that are not academically are left behind , things need to change

Pulled my son out in yr 9, school wasn't for him! He's now 17 doing an apprenticeship as his dream job as a mechanic in a local small garage near us. He's even got his functional skills in English and maths. His mental health in school was so bad it was making him unwell. 🥲

Exactly why we chose to home school our daughter. She can learn at her own pace about things that she will actually use in life and that she is interested in without pressure. Some kids flourish in school but too many leave with mental scars that affect their whole lives
