The Science on Glyphosate Is Clear—And It’s Devastating A bombshell new study reveals that long-term exposure to glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides (GBH)—even at doses deemed "safe" by the EU’s Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI)—causes statistically significant increases in tumors across nearly every major organ system in rats: blood, skin, liver,...

Trump 2024: “We’re going to get toxic chemicals out of our food supply” Trump 2026: “Glyphosate is critical to national security” A new Executive Order doubles down on the same system that bankrupted farmers, monopolized the food supply under the control of a few multinational corporations, and contaminated America’s food system. We cannot eliminate glyphosate overnight. But we should be taking steps to reform this broken system, not doubling down on it. The fact that U.S. agriculture has become so reliant on glyphosate should scare us into immediate, dramatic reform of our food system. Trump’s declaration that “glyphosate-based herbicides are a cornerstone of this Nation’s agricultural productivity and rural economy” exposes deep structural problems in our food system: Our over-reliance on chemicals and herbicides to produce more and more commodity crops is bankrupting our farmers and rural America. This broken system is the reason we are in a crisis today where over 60 farmers go out of business a day, and the rest require constant federal bailouts just to survive. Trump also claimed in his EO that glyphosate-based herbicides allow “farmers and ranchers to maintain high yields and low production costs.” But the opposite is true. Farmers have lower production costs and higher profits when they reduce or eliminate their use of glyphosate and other herbicides. Keeping them reliant on herbicides only benefits the pesticide industry. Finally, Trump’s claim that glyphosate enables farmers to produce “healthy, affordable food” could not be farther from the truth. The science that alleged glyphosate is safe was retracted after the paper was exposed for relying on false information that came directly from Monsanto. This Executive Order is bad news for independent farmers and MAHA.

Courtney Swan, M.S. Nutrition and host of the Real Foodology podcast, presented compelling testimony on the link between chronic illness and agrochemicals. The core of the argument reveals a disturbing narrative. The modern agriculture system was designed not by farmers, but by chemical corporations. Companies with histories in producing Agent Orange and wartime chemicals pivoted to American farmlands, creating a market for their products. The mechanism involves a powerful herbicide, glyphosate, and genetically engineered crops. To solve the problem of herbicides killing plants, "Roundup Ready" GMO seeds were created. These crops withstand massive glyphosate spraying, but the food retains toxic residue that does not wash or cook off. The scale of the issue is immense: • 85-100% of U.S. corn and soy is genetically modified. • 280 million pounds of glyphosate are sprayed annually. • Testing finds glyphosate in 80-90% of conventional wheat-based products like Cheerios and Goldfish. The human health consequences are severe. Glyphosate is a classified carcinogen and is found in human breast milk, placentas, and organs. It is linked to neurological damage, endocrine disruption, and the rise in gluten sensitivities. The system is accused of being rigged: • The U.S. government subsidizes the most heavily sprayed crops. • These crops become the foundation of ultra-processed foods. • Corporate lobbying and influence in agriculture policy protect profits over public health. This is framed as a national security issue, with obesity and chronic illness making a significant portion of youth ineligible for military service. The conclusion is a call to action: stop subsidizing the foods that drive disease and prioritize a food system that nourishes the population instead of harming it.
