The malicious attempt targeting the faith and belief of millions of devotees across the country of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala is deeply concerning. A random masked person appearing out of nowhere and claiming to be a sanitation worker who single-handedly buried hundreds of bodies seemed suspicious from the beginning. The swift action taken by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in ordering an investigation based solely on the claims of an unidentified masked individual, and appointing a SIT without first conducting a preliminary inquiry as advised by senior officials, is shocking. It raises serious questions about whether the same urgency would have been shown if such allegations or conspiracies were made against places of worship belonging to other religions. There are reports suggesting that someone from Delhi recommended and ensured the involvement of the SIT. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister must clarify who is controlling this from Delhi. The Congress-led Karnataka government had earlier withdrawn the general consent given to the CBI. This means the central agency cannot investigate any matter in the state without the state’s permission. I have requested Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji to consider ordering a CBI inquiry into this case. Furthermore, the state government has consistently appeared to target the Hindu community. This is evident from the formation of the Anti-Communal Task Force and the promotion of divisive narratives like the Rohith Vemula Bill, reportedly following a letter from Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. I have had the privilege of heading this tripartite department, which focuses not only on law but also on RTI and human rights. A few months ago, we had a very successful all-India-level meeting at the Vigyan Bhawan, where we tried to bring people from all corners of India. Carrying forward from there: 👉 The first facet we discussed today, in line with Shri Rahul Gandhi's great initiative to revitalise district units, is that we are now making, reconstituting, operationalising, identifying, and listing for each administrative district of India a team of at least 5 senior persons from these three subjects. They will be our eyes and ears on the ground, including coordinators, actors, and movers. And this will be put together in a final list for all of India after being addressed for each district and will be done by the state chairman in consultation with us, and where there are no state chairpersons, through the nominees at the central level. 👉 The second facet we discussed is the operationalising of a Rapid Response Force, the RRF, at the state level, having a minimum of 5 senior people who can take up cudgels on behalf of the Congress party in legal matters in the court - to argue, seek relief and get things moving inside the court. We have given it a 4-6 week timeline. 👉 The third facet is the building of a directory an all-India directory, searchable both by state as well as by alphabetical name across all these categories of all those involved in our department. Again, we have given this a 4-6 week timeline. 👉 The fifth and the last important facet is to try and involve youngsters, possibly between the ages 21 and 30, who want to be associated with the Congress and legal professionals - including RTI and human rights professionals. They will be tied up in an internship programme with our 127 MPs in the first phase on the said three subjects with the Congress approach, with the Congress ecosystem. They are not necessarily required to be part of the Congress as of now. If this works well, then we will also expand it to each MLA in each assembly-level position. I am thankful to all the people who attended the meeting. We had representatives from across India. I told them that I plan to personally present Ukraine’s plan for victory to President Biden and the presidential candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties in the near future. The wording of the bill is vague and open to interpretation, which means even ordinary statements could be judged as ill will and lead to serious criminal action. Well said David Dimbleby (on the UK government’s decision to send King Charles on a State visit to the USA): 'We are dealing with a president who is a narcissist and a bully and he has been bullying Britain. He has been rude about our armed forces, about our role in Afghanistan. The King is the head of the Armed Forces and I think a rebuke of some kind is necessary. A state banquet? While he's bombing the hell out of Iran and people are dying all over the Middle East...? I don't see that the full panoply of a state banquet and a speech at Congress is appropriate, it is a misuse of the King, who has to do what he is told by the Government. It is giving Trump more than he deserves.”

Trump is not wrong. Elon Musk is not wrong. Elon is working under the assumption that Congress actually wants to do the job and wants to save our country. Trump is working under the reality that these people are absolute scum and you cannot get anything perfect passed through the current legislators. We’d all love a bill that’s eliminates the entire IRS, gets rid of all the pork and government and completely guts to the administrative state. It wouldn’t get 20 votes in the House. The bill on the floor is about as good as it’s going to get with this current crap of Congress. I’d rather have that than nothing. Elon is not wrong. And he is not our enemy.
