Today is Australian National Flag Day. But in Parliament, I was ordered to take off our national flag. I moved a simple motion: let senators wear the Australian flag with pride, especially today. Labor and the Greens shut it down. They called it a "prop". They mocked it. And they made it clear: They don’t respect our flag. They don’t respect what it stands for. And they certainly don’t respect the Australians who do. The Australian flag isn’t a prop — it’s a symbol of who we are. It flies over our Parliament because it represents you. Your family. Your history. Your sacrifices. The Albanese Labor Government and their allies the Greens might be ashamed of it. But I never will be. Last year this man in Canada accosted & believed to be arrested by Police - his crime? He played the Canadian national anthem, during a ceremony which saw the Palestine flag being raised. It’s the same everywhere - Nationality, Patriotism, Culture, Traditions, History and even the national flag and anthem of sovereign Countries is being systematically raised.

A police officer shut off “O Canada” today in Toronto — because the Palestinian flag was being raised.
