The family went there several times and pleaded for his release, but their requests were rejected. They were even told that their son would soon attain “72 hoors” and that the family would also be rewarded with paradise for his sacrifice. When pressure started building for the boy’s release, the militants reportedly handed him over to another group. According to the account, he was sold to the HGB operations head, Commander Talwar Waziristani, for Rs. 500,000. Talwar then placed the boy under the supervision of his local area commander, Irshad Himati. Irshad and his associates allegedly prepared a Mazda truck packed with explosive drums and acid reportedly supplied by an Afghan militant named Mubariz Afghani to carry out a high-impact suicide attack. Before the attack, the boy was shown the intended target: the Chashmai check post near Miranshah in North Waziristan, where security forces were stationed. Information about a possible suicide attack had already been circulated across Miranshah, and security forces were on high alert. However, authorities did not have details about the boy or the specific vehicle. On the day of the incident, the truck approached the Chashmai Bridge check post on the main Bannu–Miranshah road. The blast killed two civilians and left 18 others critically injured, while no security personnel lost their lives due to the prior alert.
