Major win! Bombay High Court just sent a notice to FSSAI and some state governments…to address putting cancer warning labels on alcohol bottles! But how did this all happen? . . . Three weeks ago, I made a video and started a petition asking the government to make cancer warning labels mandatory on alcohol bottles. 16000+ signed my petition to make cancer warning labels mandatory! In fact, a 24-year-old named Yash Chilwar filed a PIL after seeing the video, and now the Bombay High-Court has taken the matter up. WHO has declared Alcohol as a Class I carcinogen. So it does not make sense that cigarettes have cancer warning labels, but alcohol doesn’t! I understand that the alcohol lobby will try their best to avoid cancer warning labels, but this will be a true test of both the Indian public and the regulatory bodies to not let the alcohol lobbies win! Let us all fight for transparency and the right to make informed choices!
