Instead of walking in the shoes that developers have for years (14+ for us) and realizing they have made tech restrictions so harsh that it’s made anyone outside of the “NC-17” rated based AppStore harmed and a “outsider”. Now, they have eliminated the one option we all had.. PWA/web apps (save to home screen) apps. They didn’t stop there.. they went further, now they expect to be paid fees and more and for developers to keep an account for all installs and usage. Not to worry guys, we have already planned ahead for this for months now. We will continue to develop and grow our apps (more are coming). My goal has always been to create the best experience we all deserve. Now we have more options that they can’t control completely. Dear X Design Who thought replacing the native Android gallery with the Google Photos media picker was a good idea? 🤦‍♂️ On Galaxy phones, I expect the app to open Samsung Gallery, not Google Photos. Now I have to: ❌ Dig through folders every time ❌ Re-select the same folder for every new attachment ❌ Spend more time finding photos than actually posting This is a massive UX downgrade. Android isn't one-size-fits-all. Respect OEM gallery apps and use the native media picker instead. Samsung Members gets this right. I've attached a video showing the difference. Agree? Repost so the X team sees this. 👇🏻

Today we’re releasing the $XNT SDK (Node.js). This is the world’s first zk-STARK based Software Development Kit. This is a core milestone for building private, non-custodial applications on XNT. The latest loophole that third-party file manager apps were using to get access to files and folders under /Android/data and /Android/obb has been patched. As part of Android 11's Scoped Storage restrictions, apps that use the Storage Access Framework (SAF) to launch the documents picker are not supposed to be able to get access to files and folders under the /Android/data or /Android/obb directories. However, third-party file managers figured out that if they set the initial directory when launching the documents picker to either /Android/data or /Android/obb, the documents picker lets the user grant the app full access to directories. This loophole was patched in Android 13, but then another loophole was discovered that got around this. Since Android 13 only blocked apps from setting /Android/data or /Android/obb as the initial directory when launching the documents picker, it was quickly discovered that you could set the initial directory to one of the subdirectories under /Android/data or /Android/obb, thus the user could grant access to individual subdirectories one-by-one. However, this latest loophole was patched with a recent Google Play System Update. The latest version of the DocumentsUI app, the Project Mainline module that comprises the documents picker, now restricts the initial location for the ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT/_TREE intent so that apps cannot request the initial location to be one of /Android/data, /Android/sandbox, /Android/obb, or one of their subdirectories. If the DocumentsUI app (AKA 'Files' app) on your device is on version 14-10492947 (version code 340916000), then this loophole is patched.
