The Tesla Cybertruck has steer by wire, so technically Tesla could program it so the steering wheel doesn’t move when FSD is active. I would love that because the steering wheel gets in the way when I sit with my legs crossed.

Cybertruck’s quick steer-by-wire & four-wheel steering system saves driver from a potentially bad collision. “On a two lane highway listening to the evening news when all of a sudden I see a car, glass, and parts flying at me. I cranked the steering wheel hard and fast to almost full lock. I missed the oncoming car by MILLEMETERS! This is a testament to how well the 4 wheel steering works and especially the drive by wire steering. Had I been in my Ram I would have either hit the car to my right at the stop sign, over steered and had to counter steer and would have either spun out, ditched it, or worse rolled it. Cybertruck’s steer-by-wire is weird once you realize the steering wheel isn’t physically connected to the front wheels anymore. No traditional steering shaft. Your inputs get translated digitally through sensors, software, and electric actuators running on the 48V system. A giant stainless-steel beast suddenly turns like something way smaller and feels weirdly smooth off-road. That sounds futuristic because it is. Steering stopped being hardware-only. Tesla

I’ve just OTA’ed my Model Y to 2025.8.7 and found an interesting update: When having AP active I no longer need to keep my hands on the steering wheel. I do however need to keep my hands near the wheel with palms up (as seen in the attached video from Tesla Europe & Middle East) Looks likes they are now only using the cabin camera to make sure I am attentive. I drove at least 5km/5 minutes without touching the steering wheel, so it’s no glitch. For me this is another sign that Tesla is preparing for FSD Supervised launch in Europe shortly! 🙌🏻 Can others in Europe confirm the same? LFG🔥🚀 Nat 𝕏 🦾⚡💪🌌👽🚀 Kekius Maximus

I’ve had so many (good ole boys) say “Cybertruck is UGLY and not a real truck!” Then those same guys get in, see the standard features like air suspension, 4 wheel steering, and steer by wire. Then they drive it and all of a sudden looks don’t matter and they start to get it! Just when they think they’ve seen it all, tap “Start Self Drive” and witness their brain short circuit🤯 Tesla Cybertruck is by far the best automobile made to date and the way TRUCKS should be!

Dear Tesla Team, dear Elon Musk I am reaching out to report a concerning issue that has surfaced since the recent holiday update for Europe 🇪🇺 Tesla drivers. Many in the Tesla community, have noticed that the autopilot's 'steering wheel movement' prompt has become increasingly difficult to dismiss with normal, gentle maneuvers. I did also a survey on my Instagram account and the situation confirmed of the people. In some instances, it requires such a forceful turn of the steering wheel that it feels sometimes unsafe. I have attached a video from a community member demonstrating the problem. Could you please check this matter? Thank you for your attention to this!🙏 André

Yesterday my Tesla Model Y drove my family from London, Canada to Atlanta, Georgia 1,400 km and 17 hours I never used the gas pedal or breaks I never used the steering wheel FSD took us the entire way and the drive felt safer than any human driving - no mistakes, no fatigue Absolutely incredible experience Tesla Elon Musk
