The things I would do for another Ernest Dickerson horror movie

BONES filters a lot of very stylish horror movies (Suspiria, Hellraiser, and Nosferatu mostly) through Dickerson's sleek, cool lens and I wish there were a million more movies like it.

What's crazy though is I sought this movie out when I was younger, cause everyone told me it was bad. I watched it in that mindset. Then I watched it like twenty more times. And every single time I watched it, all I could think was "Okay, but... IS this bad??"

Ernest Dickerson's take on the Most Dangerous Game is the most intense and terrifying adaptation out there. (That trophy room scene...) And that's really saying something considering how many other directors (including John Woo) took a shot at this story.

Dickerson’s definitely passed due. I think the last thing he worked on was DMZ (2022) with Ava DuVernay. And the last horror movie he did was THE V WORD (2006) for “Masters of Horror.” Give us more stuff like 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 and people would eat.. it.. up.

My brain skipped over "Dickerson horror" in that sentence and interpreted the attached video as being the things you would do for another Ernest movie. Speaking of which I think they could do a new Ernest movie, John Cena should play Ernest.

Thank you for posting this. I saw this exact scene as a kid, bailed at the bugs and tried to explain it to my aunt hoping she would tell me the name of the film. She rightfully looked at me like I was crazy and I’ve spent the last 17 years thinking I dreamed this lol

Terrible flick…my buddies and I actually burned it in the street when we were done watching it. But I do not remember that scene arguably awesome great effect.
