#IndianNavy in a closely coordinated #SearchAndRescue operation with Indian Coast Guard, DG Shipping and other stakeholders, has safely rescued 18 out of 22 crew members Singaporean Flagged MV Wan Hai 503. The MV had reported internal container explosion and resultant major fire onboard. The inputs of the incident were received at IFC-IOR at about 0930 hr on #09Jun 25. #INSSurat and a Dornier aircraft were immediately deployed by the #IndianNavy to render necessary assistance, and at about 1630 hr, 18 out of 22 crew members were safely rescued by #Surat. First aid has been rendered to the injured crew members and the ship is presently proceeding to New Mangalore for disembarkation and further medical management. The #IndianNavy undertook medical evacuation of a 41 yr old Indian seafarer from #Singapore flagged tanker Eagle Veracruz, off #Kochi on #13Jun 25. An alert message of medical emergency of the crew was received from IFC-IOR. A #Seaking 🚁 from IN_Garuda was immediately launched and #INSSharda was also diverted. Not withstanding poor visibility due to prevailing monsoon & in absence of suitable landing spot, precise winching up of the patient was undertaken by the Seaking. The patient was successfully recovered and transferred to a hospital at Kochi for further treatment. Successful #MEDEVAC from sea reaffirms Navy's Op readiness & commitment to crisis response. #AnytimeAnywhereAnyhow
