"The Time We Found Escaping Virtual Identity To Adventure" A conceptual "Clone X Anime" teaser trailer, original sounds, and #MKPillCreatorChallenge submission by cam & ila orbis 🌸🌸🌸 Because my Clone has always been the subject of my digital identity experiments, I’ve constantly tried to give him a fictional narrative... that paralleled this theme through the content I create with him. Fittingly, the story of experiment 1021 is that he is an autonomous agent trained on the memories of the Director of the research facility and trapped in a room simulation that manifests in the form of the interior of a Space Pod. A lot of the content I've created subtly hints at this story and this latest teaser trailer was an opportunity to continue to add visuals and narrative to the theme while experimenting with a new workflow using #animatediff and #comfyUI to turn #UE5 renders into old school anime style frames, something I tested for the first time two days ago. Being able to take my digital identity and use free tools to turn him into an anime main character is just something that I personally nerd out about so I hope you all enjoy the combination of visuals, sounds, and technology as much as I do. Purpose: The production of this piece of content is meant to be a testament to how technology has made it unbelievably possible for an individual to build out their own ip and unleash creativity to new bounds. It's also a creative outlet for myself, where a lot of the themes instilled in the character are driven from me being chronically online, while also just wanting to unplug and go to the beach.

Workflow: Most of the scenes were originally rendered in UE5 using Livelink for facial motion capture and Sequencer for animations. As usual I wanted to take the opportunity to learn something new so the big twist was using AI to reinterpret the rendered frames into an anime style. Using the Comfy UI Stable Diffusion GUI with AnimateDiff allowed me to rerender the frames in a vid2vid workflow that let me control the output look through a combination of LORAs (Evangelion + CodeGeass) and ControlNets.

When I saw the mask "Tribes of the Calf" from Kanbas I knew I had to make it into reality. The jewelry and gold really made it stand out for me. Since Sam Spratt's The Masquerade was revealed, I have been spending time sculpting and dissecting the mask to recreate it in 3D as faithfully as possible. I delved into the creation of this mask for many reasons. I love a good challenge and this mask surely was one for me. Creating something in 3D from a 2D image is not easy, and especially when the source has generative nature, some stuff is hard to interpret, but I tried my best to make sure the visual integrity of the mask is as close to the original as possible. Splitting the whole mask into parts, filling the missing pieces so I can build the textures was quite a lot of work. I tried to present the mask in my own style with a slightly different colorway to adapt to the mask itself. Please enjoy this short animation, and turn on sound🔊 This piece is my statement that I am here to stay. That I have a voice that often feels being lost in the void. I was among the first generation of designers and applicators for microcomputers and microprocessors. By the time I turned thirty I was pretty well established, with a team of seven or eight guys working on some very interesting projects. This woman’s daughter bought a used car two weeks ago and it’s been in the shop 9 days out of those two weeks. The warranty won’t fix the issues the car has because the issues are being caused by an accident. I feel the dealership failed big time on this trade in. Why take a car on trade that has issues they refuse to fix. I can’t imagine them selling a car to anyone and saying that the warranty is voided because of extensive damage caused by an accident. To me this sounds like the dealership scammed them and should be liable for all repairs or at least replace the car for free with something comparable. I’ve never experienced anything this bad from a dealer. The closest thing I’ve had is that the new car I bought had a tire that had a flat spot due to it sitting on the lot for so long. When driven, the tire would vibrate like it was out of balance. The dealer kept passing the buck to the manufacturer and the manufacturer blamed the dealer. Eventually I was able to get the dealer to replace the tire because of pure persistence but the experience left me with a poor experience and I never went back to them.

This is probably the most complex workflow I’ve ever built, only with open-source tools. It took my 4 days. It takes four inputs: author, title, and style; and generates a full visual animated story in one click in ComfyUI . I worked on it for four days. There are still some bugs, but here’s the first preview. Here’s a quick breakdown: - The four inputs are sent to LLMs with precise instructions to generate: first, prompts for images and image modifications; second, prompts for animations; third, prompts for generating music. - All voices are generated from the text and timed precisely, as they determine the length of each animation segment. - The first image and video are generated to serve as the title, but also as the guide for all other images created for the video. - Titles and subtitles are also added automatically in Comfy. - I also developed a lot of custom nodes for minor frame calculations, mostly to match audio and video. - The full system is a large loop that, for each line of text, generates an image and then a video from that image. The loop was the hardest part to build in this workflow, so it can process either a 20-second video or a 2-minute video with the same input. - There are multiple combinations of LLMs that try to understand the text in the best way to provide the best prompts for images and video. - The final video is assembled entirely within ComfyUI. - The music is generated based on the LLM output and matches the exact timing of the full animation. - Done! For reference, this workflow uses a lot of models and only works on an RTX 6000 Pro with plenty of RAM. My goal is not to replace humans, as I’ll try to explain later, this workflow is highly controlled and can be adapted or reworked at any point by real artists! My aim was to create a tool that can animate text in one go, allowing the AI some freedom while keeping a strict flow. I don’t know yet how I’ll share this workflow with people, I still need to polish it properly, but maybe through Patreon. The issue I'm running into now is that it doesn't seem to be agentic enough to be able to do stuff on its own that is meaningful, such as build apps generatively and take my feedback. I do think that the technology has a lot of promise, so I will check back in a couple weeks or months to try and pick up where I left off.

On this day, 52 years ago, John Cassavetes' "The Ki!!ing of a Chinese Bookie" (1974) was released in the USA. John Cassavetes explaining why he made the movie: "'A Woman Under the Influence' (1974) was the first picture I’ve had anything to do with that wasn’t made out of plain, simple feeling, but rather out of a real desire to do something in my profession. It was extremely frightening for me not to come to work out of enthusiasm and instead put myself up as something of a craftsman. Earlier films such as 'Shadows' (1958) and 'Husbands' (1970) grew out of personal experiences reaching all the way back to my childhood days. They were expressions of my innermost feelings, and now that I’ve dealt with all that, I feel obligated to view life in other terms. I want to explore other areas of human and artistic experience. I made 'The Ki!!ing of a Chinese Bookie' (1976) as an intellectual experiment– not because I am in love with it. I enjoy a more intellectual and less emotionally demanding view than in my previous work. If I can make, out of certain intellectual ideas, films that are complex in their nature, then I’m entering into new ground. And that is certainly something I look forward to. It is a film that has little to do with me and with how I feel about life. It’s interesting to me to see how other people live in our society, to look at them and ask myself, ‘Why do they do it? And how do they do it?’ Without trying to explain. The fun and challenge of the film was to imagine a self-contained world different from the one I live in: to move into it and live in it." My time on the RTFKT Creators team has come to an end. I’m forever thankful to Franco and the rest of the creator team who carved out a “Creator In Residence” role for me knowing how much this creator ecosystem meant to me. As a creator who came into this space knowing nothing about digital avatar content creation, to have had the chance to push myself even further with projects like Animus Logs or the MK Pill Recap video has been a true blessing. I’m the biggest fan of Clones and my passion has always been for experimenting and sharing what’s been possible with them, so naturally being on a team that encouraged me to continue to do that has been a dream come true. But if you know me, you know the thing I’ve cared about above all is the family of creators that have poured their hearts into this project. I’ve had the most unforgettable life experiences connecting with all of you in real life and this network of genuinely awesome people is the one magical experience that I would do anything to help share. Words can’t explain it, but to be able to find friends in Tokyo, a younger brother in Germany, an older brother in Korea, a family in Los Angeles, future friends in Australia, it’s been an adventure of a lifetime that I’m so grateful for and it’s an experience that I think has true value in this shallow web3 world. These people are really just the coolest, and I’m proud to call them friends. To be able to play a part on the team and help with any of the efforts to push it all forward, whether it was organizing virtual/irl meetups, planning creator challenges, concepting ways to reward and highlight creators, or just going the extra step to connect personally, has been my honor and I’m proud to have given it my best. An army shared their story of how Blue & Grey by Taehyung gave them strength to go on! 👤 The tattoo says ‘where's my angel?’, which is the first line of the song Blue and Grey by BTS. And the reason why I got it is because I was going through a mental breakdown. And then at 4 in the morning, I was listening to BTS, and this is like three weeks into me being a fan of BTS. Then I read the lyrics, and it was the first time I ever heard the song ever in life. And then I read the lyrics, and then this lyric really stuck out to me, so I put it on my chest, under my collarbone. So that's what my tattoo says, it's just a lyric from Blue and Grey because that song means a lot to me. So thank you, Mr. Kim Taehyung, for writing it, because you really saved my life with that one. So I've been good. ( Taehyung’s songs and lyrics have given so many of us comfort. Thank you so much.

I'll have to make sure how the Hall of Fame process works. That's a question that I have. I want to ask them what are my options. There's no doubt the Mets are a big part of my identity as a player.
