You cannot undermine the whole point of an economy, however distressing that may be. the government cannot just step in every single time something is difficult for people.

So tax payers who do not own homes will be subsidising home owners and helping to artifically inflate house prices instead of allowing a market correction? Why don't you rip planning laws apart, build a few million homes and actually tackle the root cause of this, the supply.
