THE TREE OF LIFE turns 15 today. Terrence Malick spent years developing a passion project called Q, sending cinematographers around the world to capture nature footage exploring the cosmos and origins of life. Many of those ideas later used in this film.

Directed by Terrence Malick, The Tree of Life rejects traditional linear plot structures & instead leans into heavy use of metaphors & symbolism. For the record, I watched this three times over the course of multiple years- not all at once. But I’m glad I did because this is a totally unique film.
