PROMETHEUS turns 14 today. It marked Ridley Scott’s return to the ALIEN universe after 33 years. Rather than make a direct sequel, Scott used PROMETHEUS to explore the origins of humanity & the mysterious Space Jockey first glimpsed in the original film.

Prometheus gave humanity the forbidden knowledge and was expelled by the “gods.” He also warned his son Deucalion about the upcoming flood that would destroy humanity and instructed him to build a ship. This flood is connected to the destruction of Bronze Age civilization 3,000 years ago, which coincides with the Bronze Age Collapse, the Greek Dark Ages, and the Iron Age Cold Epoch. Prometheus’ story aligns with the Watchers from the Book of Enoch. Ironically, a giant statue of Prometheus is being erected near Starbase in Texas, where Musk develops reusable rockets and plans for a base on the Moon that would survive the upcoming Geophysical Event.

Black Hawk Down is one of the many crowning achievements of Ridley Scott’s career. We were shown a new trailer for Scott’s upcoming August release The Dog Stars & some of the footage reminded me of the things Scott pulls off in Black Hawk Down. This entire cast is loaded to the gills & it’s some of the best direction of Ridley’s career. Ridley is great when it comes to combat sequences.

Ridley Scott confirmed this week that an Alien: Covenant sequel is in the works. According to Scott - who is out promoting his newest film The Dog Stars - he’s still working on the third prequel film which will focus on Michael Fassbender’s android, David. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Scott noted that the third film is moving forward. Scott is 88 years old & still as busy as ever. It’s something I can’t fathom but that I appreciate immensely.
