This is on the beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Look at these gorgeous horses stroll right up to these children playing in the sand. Look at how calm they are, including the children. ❤️ Super impressed that they didn’t jump up and try to pet them and scare them away. 💯 Mom is showing off her baby to those kids. Someone pointed out there is a law there requiring people to stay at least 50 feet away from the wild horses on the Outer Banks. Violating this law can result in a citation from the local police. I doubt those kids are getting a citation anytime soon. 💯 Did you know the horses roamed freely on the Outer Banks Beaches?

The emotional reunion story of two Mustang wild horses (Phoenix & Ghost) after many years apart 💖✨ Phoenix and Ghost were separated during a wild horse roundup and lived different lives for many years. Phoenix arrived at the sanctuary first and spent time adapting to the safety of the wide open lands in Oregon. Despite having space and care, Phoenix often seemed to be searching for something it had lost. Many years later, Ghost was also brought to the sanctuary. When she was released into the same area, everything changed completely. Phoenix heard her and immediately ran across the hills to meet her. At the moment they reunited, there was no hesitation, and from then on they have always stayed together.

UPDATE: COUNTERFEIT GOODS WORTH MORE THAN R100 MILLION SEIZED AT BELLVILLE SHOPPING COMPLEX WITHIN A WEEK The South African Police Service's (SAPS) National and Western Cape Counterfeit and Illicit Goods Units, supported by various internal and external stakeholders, seized counterfeit goods with an estimated value of R10 million during a multidisciplinary operation at a shopping complex in Bellville. More than 40 shops were targeted during the operation on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, resulting in the seizure of high-end counterfeit branded clothing, shoes, bags, watches, sunglasses, caps and branded packaging. The multidisciplinary team comprised members from SAPS, the Cape Town Metropolitan Police Department, City of Cape Town Law Enforcement and brand protectors. This follows a similar takedown operation conducted at the same shopping complex a week ago, during which counterfeit goods valued at more than R98 million were seized. Combined, the two operations resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods worth more than R100 million within a week. These operations form part of nationwide efforts to dismantle the trade in counterfeit and illicit goods, which threaten public safety, legitimate businesses and the country's economy.

The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce yesterday evening, continued its raid operation against persons constituting public nuisance across the metropolis. Major routes raided includes; Awolowo Way up to Falomo round about, Ikoyi and Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, along Lekki road. This is in a bid to arrest and get rid of destitutes and miscreants causing public nuisance in the areas. 27 persons including 15 minors involved in the unlawful act of street begging in the middle of vehicular traffic/hold-ups were apprehended during the operation. The panicked actions of these horses just before today's main race can bust the racing industry's myths better than we can: "They're just a bit excited." No. They're anxious and don't want to race. "They love to race." No. They love to run. Those are two different things. And in this case, many are running out of fear. Horses run naturally from fear of being left behind by the pack and attacked as prey. "They're trained for this." Really? Then why do they need to be controlled by excruciating metal mouth bits? These “equine athletes” did not get a choice in this matter, they never signed up for this or were informed of the risks. If instances like these, the bravery of Running Lion yesterday and White Birch today aren’t examples of individuals showing that they don’t want to do this, then what is? When will we listen to the horses when they tell us "NO"? We were not the only ones protesting today. These animals will continue to resist, and for as long as they do, we will stand up for all life. If, like us, you stand in solidarity with animals, then please join us at a Nonviolence Training and be part of this incredible community! #AnimalRising #AnimalLiberation #EndAnimalExploitation

POOR HORSE 💔💔….ONE OF THE RIOT HORSES 😡😡😡💔💔💔 Today we had a call from An Garda Síochána Tallaght, this poor horse was lying on the ground and could not get up, suspected colic. Garda Kate moved fast, she has horse experience and was eventually able to get the poor thing up of the ground, he was totally exhausted and struggled to walk. We arrived and he was very lethargic but moving so we called our vet making sure he’d be ready once we got him loaded. When waiting on transport we discovered this is the horse in the video on the trap with a child on the drivers lap that was ridden into the riots at City West last week 😡😡😡😡😡😡 The poor soul has severe cuts on his legs from Ill fitted straps and sores on his mouth from the bit. No wonder he was weak 💔💔💔 Gardaí are now investigating. Historians estimate that around 20,000 French women suffered this punishment during the Épuration sauvage ("Wild Purge"). They were publicly humiliated. Their heads were shaved, swastikas were sometimes painted on their faces, and they were paraded through the streets as crowds celebrated what they saw as justice. Maybe it was just because the French women had never interacted with real men before the Germans came.

Wonderful stuff, here, from the #CBS Sunday afternoon Game-of-the-Week on Mar. 10, 1968. Begins with a great, ice-level view of #Chicago Stadium and ends with Johnny Bower stoning the #Blackhawks. It was an emotional week for hockey in #Toronto after the #Leafs traded Frank Mahovlich to #Detroit. The previous night, Mahovlich had returned to the Gardens with the #RedWings. The Big M, almost predictably, opened the scoring on a breakaway, beating Bruce Gamble with a backhand deke. After falling behind, 4-0, the Leafs rallied for a wild, 7-5 win. Dad took me to the game; I had turned nine the previous month. Mike Walton scored on a third-period penalty shot. The next afternoon, in Chicago, he took another penalty shot, but was stopped by Jack Norris. #LeafsForever

Packing into the wilderness on horses and mules will take you back in time. Sit with it long enough and you start realizing how recent it was that people lived this way. Just 3-4 generations ago. They rode through wild, unforgiving country to find food, to find community, to avoid the folks who meant them harm. From as far back as the Mongols to as recent as the settling of the West, people spent their time managing livestock, freezing, struggling, and grinding across entire continents. We think their lives were difficult relative to our cushy existence. But I don’t buy it anymore. They woke up with a purpose. A task. Movement, sunlight, physical work, a reason to step into the day. The wild handed them a challenge every morning and every night. That’s the stuff humans are built for. We made things easier and somehow made everything harder. Don’t discount what real challenge used to give us. Go find some of it again.

An 800-kg wild gaur walked more than 300 km across Tamil Nadu, from the forests of Trichy to the shores of Pamban. What followed was one of the most complex wildlife operations undertaken in the state. After a month of tracking the animal through human-dominated landscapes, and when all efforts to guide it back to suitable habitat failed, the Tamil Nadu Forest Department carried out the state’s first long-distance gaur translocation. Nearly 100 personnel, including expert veterinarians and trackers, worked in challenging coastal terrain to safely tranquilize, transport and release the animal in a Reserve Forest in Dindigul after a 13-hour capture operation and a 9-hour journey. Translocating a gaur is among the most challenging wildlife management tasks. This successful operation marks a significant milestone in conflict mitigation and wildlife management, while providing valuable lessons for future human-wildlife conflict situations. Kudos to the entire team 👏👏💪

💔 17 years ago today, March 20, 2009, during Operation Jaley, the largest joint US-Canadian 🇺🇸🇨🇦 operation since the Korean War, an IED ripped through our fighting patrol in Kandahar’s Zhari District. Master Corporal Scott Francis Vernelli (28) and Corporal Tyler Crooks (24) of November Company, 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment were killed in action along with our Afghan interpreter. 💔 17 years ago today, March 20, 2009, during Operation Jaley, the largest joint US-Canadian 🇺🇸🇨🇦 operation since the Korean War, an IED ripped through our fighting patrol in Kandahar’s Zhari District. Master Corporal Scott Francis Vernelli (28) and Corporal Tyler Crooks (24) of November Company, 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment were killed in action along with our Afghan interpreter.
