It is a false analogy because the survival of the 5 transplant recipients is not 100% assured, and also their future life expectancy will be diminished compared to a healthy person. This differs from the original trolley problem.

Another way to look at this: If you decide to not do anything, then you're *letting* 5 people die. If you change the trolley's direction, then you're saving 5 people, but actively choosing to kill 1 person in the process.

Who does this? I've never seen a train rescue on the news!

I would call this example false equivalence.

If I have the option to harvest the organ from a healthy person, there must be a reason why that's an option for me. So it would be important to know why that option is on the table for me to consider.

How do I make the train run over them all?

As an ex train driver who has hit 2 people driving trains (suicides), first one at 50mph, second one at 85mph, there isn't much left of the body to harvest. (I was alright, shaky for 5 minutes or so but it was their choice)

The very formulation of the question is manipulation. You are not required to make any choice.)
