🚨 BREAKING Verified ✅ Claim: The Trump administration has imposed new tariffs on more than 80 countries, targeting nearly all U.S. imports over alleged failures to address forced labour in global supply chains. Verification: The claim is substantially accurate. The Trump administration imposed new tariffs of 10% to 12.5% under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, citing the failure of trading partners to prohibit and effectively enforce bans on goods produced with forced labour. Officially, the action applies to 60 trading partners covering approximately 99.4% of U.S. imports. Since the European Union is treated as one trading partner while representing 27 member countries, the total number of affected countries exceeds 80. Details: • Tariffs range from 10% to 12.5%. • The measures replace the temporary global tariffs that expired after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Trump's previous emergency tariff regime. • The administration says the policy is intended to pressure trading partners to strengthen enforcement against forced labour in supply chains. • The tariffs cover nearly all U.S. imports, with exemptions for selected products such as certain raw materials and goods already subject to other tariff programs. @RosJordanAJE While here in the US, forced inmate labor is used to cut cost for a shit load of companies. They get pennies an hour, so the prisons can push back if it's called slavery. Which in the US is still legal for incarcerated people.

@RosJordanAJE Tariffs on 80 countries because of labor issues is just another way to complicate trade for everyone involved. It’s wild how quickly supply chain politics can turn into a global headache like this one.
