🚨 The silent flood: Canada's hidden immigration crisis While Canadians obsess over the heavily scrutinized Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the real elephant in the room quietly flooding the country with nearly a million temporary workers every year remains completely under the radar. The International Mobility Program (IMP) is the Liberals' favourite backdoor for mass, unmitigated migration. It’s a largely underreported program that is wreaking absolute havoc on Canadian housing, health care, wages, and the future for young Canadians. It comes in stark contrast to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) that dominates in headlines, which requires a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) for entry. Employers have to prove they can't find Canadians first, through the assessment process. It’s well documented that this is not a foolproof process and that program is riddled with fraud, exploitation and abuse, but the IMP? It doesn’t even need a LMIA! Instead, the IMP is mostly wide open to anyone under international agreements, intra-company transfers, post-grad work permits, spousal open permits, and dozens of exemptions. Non-permanent residents with employment income are broken down into a few different categories under the umbrella of foreign workers with work permits, including the TFWP, the IMB for work purposes, IMB for study purposes, IMB for other purposes, study permit holders without a work permit and “other” temporary residents without a work permit. In the 2025 Report to Parliament on Immigration, Minister Lena Diab approved the message that this is “based on the broader economic, cultural, or other competitive advantages for Canada and reciprocal benefits enjoyed by Canadians and permanent residents.” Yet the surge has been entirely unprecedented. The report notes that “in 2024, there were 191,630 individuals with new work permits under the TFWP” verses a staggering “717,405 individuals with new work permits under the IMP.” That’s more than half a million more people than the TFWP; almost four-times as many! The largest source country for this is influx is India, followed by Ukraine. Year after year, the IMP dwarfs the TFWP, with the disparity growing a staggering amount since at least 2010; numbers that exploded under the Liberal government in 2015. This isn't the controlled, sustainable immigration that Canada historically knew – it’s floodgates wide open. Open work permits (i.e. no LMIA) mean these workers can go anywhere, to any job, because there’s nothing tying them to a specific employer or proven labour shortage. The results of this flood is predictable chaos. Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem called for policy changes in October 2025 to address a lowering standard of living, explaining that productivity growth has been weak, and without structural improvements (which monetary policy cannot directly fix), incomes will end up lower than they otherwise could have been. Canada's temporary resident population ballooned to millions, driving the housing crisis into overdrive, making rent skyrocket, leaving young families priced out and youth not getting entry level jobs. Hospitals are overwhelmed, schools are strained, and federal policy implications from this are being continually downloaded onto provinces and municipalities without adequate resources to absorb the culture shock. Youth unemployment climbs as employers flood the market with cheaper temporary labour. Public polling shows most Canadians now see temporary foreign worker programs – and by extension this unchecked IMP surge – as hammering housing affordability and job prospects for Canadian kids. Yet the Liberals kept the taps on full blast for years, prioritizing 'broader economic benefits' over Canadian workers and communities. This is the same government that lectured us about 'building back better' while importing the scale of a small city every few months without building the infrastructure to match. It's reckless, unsustainable, and it’s hitting everyday Canadians the hardest, especially in our biggest cities and provinces like Ontario that are disproportionately expected to absorb this influx. Controversial Whitby councillor bashes Canadians opposed to Temporary Foreign Worker Program So, who in blue hell is Victoria Bozinovski? For starters, she’s a councillor with the Town of Whitby. She’s also supposedly a conservative. We have a recent picture of her posing with Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre. But Bozinovski recently made headlines by stating that if you are against the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, that makes you: “xenophobic… racist… garbage…” Wow. That’s harsh! Yet, her sentiments are also inexplicable given that by supporting the Temporary Foreign Worker Program Bozinovski is going against the official policy of the Conservative Party of Canada which states: “The Temporary Foreign Workers program would be permanently abolished with a separate, standalone program for legitimately difficult-to-fill agricultural labour.” So, if Bozinovski identifies as a conservative, why would she go against Conservative Party values? Is she (ugh!) a female version of Erin O’Toole, perhaps? We would love to interview Bozinovski to get her side of the story. We tried to do so last month after a Town of Whitby Council meeting. But she literally ran away from us – and even sic’d her security guard to illegally get handsy with us. What a coward. And given her recent flip out regarding the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, that classic line from Hamlet springs to mind: “The lady doth protest too much methinks.” So, we did a little digging regarding Victoria Bozinovski. And we think we now know the real reason why she is such an ardent defender of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Which is to say, Bozinovski is a broker with Toronto-based Titan York Realty Corporation in Toronto. And one of her specialties is hospitality. Hospitality would presumably include fast-food restaurants. You know, like Tim Hortons, which absolutely adores the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Talk about a eureka moment! You see, the Temporary Foreign Worker Program works very well indeed for Bozinovski’s clients and would-be clients. Which means that the Temporary Foreign Worker Program also works very well for Bozinovski’s own financial enrichment. How sad. It would appear that Victoria Bozinovski, is putting money ahead of the party she allegedly supports. She is presumably also putting the almighty dollar ahead of her own country. Shame. A couple of days ago, every regime media outlet in the country ran the same cheerful story: Tim Hortons, long notorious for importing cheap foreign labour, was turning over a new leaf. They were going to hire 10,000 “locals.” What a turnaround. What a company. Pass the double-double! I didn't buy it. So I went to the government's own temporary foreign worker website and did a quick search. I was shocked to find 93 Tim Hortons locations are actively advertising for temporary foreign workers. Literally at the same time their spin doctors are claiming they’re hiring Canadians. So I printed out the job postings, fired up our billboard truck, and headed to one of the foreign-staffed Tim Hortons to ask for the manager. The Tim Hortons I went to was offering $36 an hour for a restaurant manager. Their government of Canada job listing claimed that no Canadian would do the job. The Tim Hortons executive in the store told me he'd “never seen” the foreign worker ads before. Really? They're on the government TFW website. Anyone can look them up. I showed it to him live, on camera. He should tell that to the father I met outside, whose 21-year-old son can't find work. I spent nearly an hour out front talking to passersby. Not one person — not a single one — said Tim Hortons should keep hiring foreign workers over Canadians. And many of the people I spoke with were immigrants themselves. Prime Minister Mark Carney: "The opportunity to attract people who would have previously gotten H1B visas... We will have an offering on this soon." Excellent news to the thousands of Canadians who can't even get a job in Canada's tech sector because similar programs are already exist here replacing them with cheap foreign workers.
