the voting system of s2 is actually particularly evil. not only does it give the illusion of choice to the players, but also evidently illustrates a very important issue in today’s society: it divides the oppressed and pits them against each other for the benefit of the wealthy.

usually capitalists will exploit differences between the groups, let it be race, sex, immigration status, etc., to make this division evident and give rise to the conflict. +

in the series, the players are immediately divided and labeled: the ones who want to leave and the ones who want to stay, the x’s and the o’s. there is no fostering empathy, there is no us vs them, it instantly turns into and us vs ourselves situation. +

a key point of this, is that one group is always going to have a disadvantage, the x’s are collectivists, non-confrontational or weaker, mostly elderly and women, or people that care less about the money and more about surviving. +

the o’s are more desperate, aggressive and physical, and most of them would do anything to get out of there with the money they need. this sort of division—this kind of oppression, effectively keeps both sides down and focused on each other. +

it’s cruel and leads them directly into the special game—or the riot, planned by the organizers, where one group will effectively eliminate the ones at a disadvantage. it blinds the players with their own need and hunger, and prevents them +

from seeing that they all have a common interest and a common enemy.

to be honest, this kind of oppression is the backbone of the games, that’s the purpose, to make everyone individualistic, to prey on their hunger and desperation so they stay focused on the prize—the money… it was just way more evident with the two groups in season two.

There is no second best. To be the optimal medium of exchange and unit of account, it's best to not have to convert between different moneys. And since network effects grow exponentially with the number of users, once a certain user threshold has been passed, any new monetary technology has to be significantly better than the dominant one to replace it.

and even when someone breaks through it (gihun) and says that it needs to be "us vs them" not "us vs each other" only a couple people actually step in to help. and even some of them that do still harbor a hatred for the other side because they believe its the o's fault when---

REAL I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR SO LONG (also, the duality of a man: )

And no matter what you vote for, the system never changes!
