@UKLabour Threatening people with disabilities won't make them well enough to work or employers more inclined to take them on.

@UKLabour If you take money away from disabled people, it won’t suddenly cure them of their disabilities. PIP is an in-work benefit. Explain how removing an in-work benefit gets people into work.

@UKLabour Let’s be real here Jo, this is nothing but unmitigated bullshit. If disabled people’s needs aren’t met because they have their PIP removed or UC cut then they can no longer afford to commission and contract the services to meet these needs, then people will die.

@UKLabour LIES UC is being slashed for people judged unable to work People WILL DIE as a result Where are the jobs for everyone else? Slashing pip for these groups will result in poverty and crisis. All round transfer of wealth. Immoral. DISASTER.

@UKLabour But these reforms don't support those who need it the most. This is all about cuts and nothing more.

@UKLabour Forcing disabled people into jobs they probably can't do by starving them of money is disgusting and must not be allowed to happen. Also do tell us why someone who is incontinent and can't wash themselves should be deprived of any financial help.

@UKLabour You don’t break things more & kill off disabled people with starvation & homelessness to “fix things”, Jo. Before you spout the usual “but disabled people who need support will get it”, read about David’s horrific death below after his PIP was cut. We aren’t supported enough now!

@UKLabour PIP is an in-work benefit that you are about to remove from very many people who need it to allow them to work. If you don't even know anything about the benefit you're cutting then you are negligent beyond belief.

@UKLabour More lies from @UKLabour. I wouldn't trust you to nip to the corner shop to get me a pint of milk.

@UKLabour I can't decide whether you just don't realise how unsafe the PIP system already is, or more likely, you're parroting what you're told. New 4 points in standard daily living criteria is particularly harsh & will lead to even more Tribunal cases costing millions more than already.

@UKLabour You are literally halving the money for people who are too sick to work. Work will significantly worsen health conditions or cause death in some cases. Work is not always good for physical and mental health. You are going to hurt a lot of people.

@UKLabour Stop lying, you are cutting it to save money at the expense od sick and disabled people medically certified as unable to work its an immoral stain on what the labour party was supposed to stand for.

@UKLabour Get bloody lost! 😡 The system is about to become worse for those who it’s supposed to protect! You and your Red Tory sympathisers can go to hell! Your own bloody impact statement agrees! You’ve dug yourselves one hell of a massive hole here, one you will NEVER get out of.

@UKLabour How are you going to do that when you’re simultaneously slashing funding for mental health treatment & support, cancelled the only disability work program, increased employer NI contributions & are taking away PIP that helps disabled people work? #LabourLiars

@UKLabour This is what Labour will cause Stop gaslighting saying there is a safety net - there is NOT under the “4 point” PIP plan Under Labour, seriously disabled will be left in unsurvivable conditions - £50 p/w, total Even Oxfam called it “morally repugnant”

@UKLabour Stop talking crap. Everything you've done so far has made things worse than it was under the Tories and here you are trying to defend going after the sick and disabled. That's every vulnerable person in our society. Are you proud of yourself?

@UKLabour Wrong,&you know it’s wrong. The criteria change will drag a lot of people into the work category who cannot safely commit&sustain work, and you will remove benefits from them because they’re all of a sudden not deemed severe enough, because you arbitrarily change the PIP criteria

@UKLabour France had a 6% disability mandate for large employers to hit and if they fail they get fined. Seems like a good idea.

@UKLabour And yet you are taking £8400 a year from the disabled WHO CANT WORK AT ALL. You saying you'll support us into work is bloody useless if we CAN'T. And yet, you still cut our income by thousands. It's a disgrace, and you're a disgrace for supporting it.

@UKLabour You know that's crap. You will cause the deaths of disabled people. Your constituents will not forgive you at the next election. You can't claim to provide a safety net while hacking holes in it. Deaths will be on the former "labour party." Stop now if you have any conscience.

@UKLabour Encourage work by having a living wage , 40% of those on UC work , increase the personal tax allowance so people keep more of their £ ( most people spend their money in their communities and in local businesses). Most people on benefits want to work already.

@UKLabour The nasty party. Pip has nothing to do with work . Pip is for disabled people who need extra support. Some people on pip work and contribute. Pip is notoriously difficult requiring medical evidence the company DWP sub the assessments to are set up to fail you. Try claiming it.

Yvette Cooper comments on Lizz Kendal's cut's to welfare Dear Yvette Cooper its fair to say that everyone would like to see those younger people who are out of work to get into the work force and be productive members of society But Labour's message is absolutely awful Labour should not be cutting PIP, and indeed throughout your time in opposition, Labour constantly criticised the Conservative government for denying help and support to those who are genuinely disabled by having such a harsh system Now in government, Labour are making the system even more harsh, just to balance the books of the weakest in society to meet Chancellor Rachel Reeve's self imposed fiscal rules, while ignoring a wealth tax on those with £10m+? Yes, the announcement of £1 billion to help people who can work, get into work is a good thing But if you put more energy into that, you would find those who can work will work and that would automatically bring down the support they need from the welfare budget So Labour have two problems. Really bad messaging, and really bad policy decision making - which may have some good well intention underlying these policies And though a little less relevant, but a minister and her husband combined earning more than £750,000 a year cutting support to the poorest and most in need in our society is not a good look I do not decry Kendal and her husband's success, by all means earn high figures, and have a good quality of life, we should absolutely be encouraging this for everyone who can But the optics and the way this has been done, doesn't help the disabled person currently massively concerned about their economic position Do better Labour
