It’s not true. We’re not competing with China. We’re training their damn scientists in our schools and selling them AI chips.

Jesse is correct. Build new schools, bring new jobs, infuse $ into these communities that will make their lives better. The ROI for Big tech will still be substantial.

Maybe he heard you? Trump put out a statement that put the China argument last and first talked about how data centers would enrich the communities they are in. That's not the first time he's framed it that way.

Yeah. And going on national news TV and telling lies about concerned citizens at public hearings, and telling concerned citizens with questions at publc hearings that they are too stupid to understand the decisions elected officials are making on their behalf, is a bad sell too.

We’re competing with China, but are they competing with us? Do they know we’re in a competition? We have a quarter their population (supposedly) but already have 10x the data centers and building more constantly. China isn’t even 2nd to us. Germany and UK have more than China and they’re tiny in comparison. They should stop making it about China unless it’s absolutely true.

The US has roughly 5,381 data centers compared to China’s 449. Build 5 huge ones in Palm Beach

At minimum, from 2022 through July 7, 2026, I was paying residential PGE rates that assigned some costs created by massive data centers and other large energy users to people like me. Evidence suggests the problem began building around 2019, but 2022–2026 is the clearest documented timeframe. Then regulators raised those large users’ rates by 29.7% and lowered residential rates by 1.3%, confirming that the previous allocation had been unfair. I never consented to subsidizing private data-center corporations. The government approved the rates and took that money through a utility bill I had no practical choice but to pay. Maybe my individual share was relatively small each month, but that misses the point. Add it up over four to seven years—and include what that money could have earned if properly invested—and it represents real property and real purchasing power taken from me. When people discover they were forced to subsidize something without their consent, they don’t owe that industry continued support. They owe it scrutiny and resistance. That is why I’m angry and why I oppose further data-center expansion.

Their problem is that they walk in with a pretense of consent rather than actual consent... ...then are shocked when their pretence is exposed.

How about just stay TF out of rural America? Build them in cities and suburbs where the farm and ranch land is already gone.

anyone else think the Orange Pussy should lead by example? why isn't he putting a data center next to a Trump golf course?

Odd that we won't find any of the data centers near golf courses and private compounds. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@JesseKellyDC Kinda have to wonder…the OBBBA allowed the full and immediate expensing of certain business assets placed in service during the taxable year… Full and immediate. Thats a huge incentive…

Oh yeah let’s have Facebook and TikTok building and owning the schools and sports too in small towns. What a great idea. They can be fully integrated with the datacenters. Take that China!

It’s not true, fuck them. We don’t treat China like the enemy they are. Just look at how many of their students we take? Fuck this argument, keep that shit out of here

If that is the case that has to be made then the democrat communists that make up the tech community would rather let China win. I guarantee they would do that rather than build a school that would have a majority white demographic.
