I disagree with the Deputy Minister's approach to addressing the language issue. Instead of taking matters into his own hands, he should have engaged with the relevant ministry to express his concerns. However, firing him doesn't solve the underlying problem. Kalanga children should be taught by Kalanga teachers, especially in their formative years. As a proud Kalanga myself, I regret not being able to write in my native language. The example below highlights the importance of language-aligned education. #LanguageMatters #Asakhe

Two 14-year-old girls reported missing by their families in Magwegwe, Bulawayo, have been found after they were allegedly abducted by a man in his 50s who kept them in an disused building in Donnington, near Tshabalala. The victims’ identities and that of the alleged perpetrator cannot be revealed as the police are yet to release a statement.
