After a long delay the first government chartered rescue flight for British citizens who had been stranded in the Middle East has landed in the UK. The plane from Oman's capital city, Muscat, was due to arrive yesterday but was delayed due to what the Foreign Office called "technical issues." Those on board were among the most vulnerable, including the sick and the elderly. Now stuck in the UAE, he’s part of tens of thousands of passengers stranded as airports across the Middle East shut down. 20 Brits evacuated from the MV Hondius have woken up in isolation in hospital in the UK this morning, after being repatriated from Tenerife. The group was flown into Manchester last night, before being taken to Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside.
