The 14th Amendment guaranteed the citizenship of the children of freed slaves. It did not guarantee the citizenship of the children of foreign ambassadors. It did not guarantee the citizenship of the children of invading armies. So why the hell would it guarantee the citizenship of the children of illegal immigrants?

There you have folks. The Supreme Court upholds birthright citizenship for children born in the United States, even if the parents are illegal. When this was crafted, it was meant to make sure that freed slaves and their children were full citizens. This is a miscarriage.

The framers meant birthright citizenship for the children of freed slaves. “Subject to the jurisdiction” has teeth. It means allegiance to the United States. Ambassadors’ kids born here? No citizenship. Invading armies’ kids born here? No citizenship. American Indians did not fall under U.S. jurisdiction for this clause. Congress granted citizenship by statute. So ask the question: if American Indians did not get automatic citizenship under the Fourteenth, how do illegal aliens get it? Answer: they don’t. Thanks for having me, Joe Pags Pagliarulo.

He had to join the Union color guard to gain his freedom by morphing the citizenship clause, and it's something that it wasn't meant to be. It's demeaning to descendants of slaves like me. We are talking about a direct descendant of a slave that earned, earned the right to be in this country and passed that ilk down to his ancestry. People bled for it and it means something.
