The intended benefit was 18 to 5% which means around 11.02%. Actual Decrease in price based on average price reported by various CGST Zones is 12.36%. For Talcum powder, GST rates have been reduced from 18% to 5%. The intended benefit was 11.02% but the actual decrease in price is 11.77%. For Face powder, GST rates have been reduced from 18% to 5%. The intended benefit was 11.02% but the actual decrease in price is 12.22%. For Clinical diapers, GST rates have been reduced from 12% to 5%. The intended benefit was 6.25% but the actual decrease in price is 10.38%. For table, kitchen or other household articles of iron, steel and copper; utensils, GST rates have been reduced from 12% to 5%. The intended benefit was 6.25% but the actual decrease in price is 10.24%. For toys like tricycles, scooters, pedal cars etc., including parts and accessories thereof, GST rates have been reduced from 12% to 5%. The intended benefit was 6.25% but the actual decrease in price is 8.93%. For umbrellas and sun umbrellas, including walking-stick umbrellas, garden umbrellas and similar umbrellas, GST rates have been reduced from 12% to 5%. For example, zero duty will be applied to gems and diamonds. Pharmaceutical products, which are exported from India in large quantities, will also be subject to zero duty. Smartphones, which are exported from India to the US in large numbers, will continue to have zero duty. In this way, there are numerous such items on which zero duty will be levied in the future. In the agricultural sector as well, there are many items that will be exported from India to the US on which a zero reciprocal tariff will be applied, meaning the additional duty will be zero. For example, spices, tea, coffee and products made from them, coconut and coconut oil, vegetable wax, areca nut, Brazil nut, cashew nut, and chestnut. Many fruits and vegetables are also included"

To protect the poor, the GST Council has ensured that essential items remain exempt or taxed minimally - Rice, wheat, pulses, atta, fruits, vegetables, milk, eggs are all exempt. Even processed essentials like tea, sugar, edible oils and affordable clothing are taxed at just 5%.
