We made this short documentary telling the story of how our stars Egejurum Onyedikachi, Onwubiko Chimdiebube, and Don Anele Munachimso went from competing in and winning the South East Maths Olympiad to bringing home gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad in Rome last week. It's such a beautiful and inspiring story to watch. Seeing students from the South East achieve this on the international stage reminds us of what is possible when young people are given the right opportunities. We are changing the story of education in the South East and Nigeria, and this is just the beginning.

This morning, we conducted our first experiment in Abor Village, Enugu State. Every child in this hall is from the village. We gathered them together and delivered a world-class Mathematics lesson designed to build the strong foundations they need to compete confidently with students from the best private schools in the 2027 South East Maths & Science Olympiad. The most remarkable part? After the lesson, many of the children said they never knew Mathematics could be this easy. Several of them told us it was the best lesson they had ever attended. That alone says a lot about the learning gap we need to close. This is about more than preparing for an Olympiad. It is about eliminating the learning inequality between children born into privilege and those born into underserved communities. On Monday, we’ll run the next experiment in Imo State. If the results are equally promising, we’ll begin developing a model that can be replicated across villages throughout the South East. I’m beginning to believe that we don’t have an intelligence problem, we have an access problem. When children are exposed to world-class teaching, regardless of where they live, they rise to the occasion. If this model works at scale, it could fundamentally change how we democratize learning in Africa. We appreciate TN Onodingene Abor ICT Center, for making their facilities free for every child.

Lex Fridman asked Elon Musk what the meaning of life is. His answer was not what anyone expected. We do not know, he said. And that is exactly why we need to expand consciousness. Not to find the answer. To ask better questions. He believes the universe is full of things we cannot even formulate yet. We are like children trying to understand calculus. The problem is not that calculus is too hard. The problem is that we have not developed enough to know it exists. Consciousness, to him, is a tool for exploring the universe. The more of it we have, the better our questions become. The better our questions become, the closer we get to understanding what any of this means. [WATCH] IN THE INTEREST OF JUSTICE AND DEMOCRATIC PARTICIPATION. In the interest of democratic participation and to allow our communities to exercise their fair choice in selecting those they believe will be the best public representatives. Those communities affected we believe should be given the opportunity to participate in the democratic processes. It is not harmful to democracy to allow the investigation into the technical issues to take place. On of the major changes is how the ANC manages the candidate selection process is that there are new requirements, the criteria we use now is much more stringent to ensure that those we send to contest elections are qualifying and wanted by their communities, both in ethical conduct, skills and competence. What that means is that ANC processes of candidates selection are very laborious and we are the first to admit that they are laborious because we involve over a period of time many stakeholders including the community, to those who say why we left things to the eleventh hour we can say categorically we did not. We want to assure our members and communities that those communities and municipalities affected we are dealing with this issue and do find justice in the process and that they will exercise their democratic right. That is why we are asking for a constructive solution with the independent electoral commission and we do believe they will open the door to engagement, it is a Chapter 9 institution it is duty bound to find a solution as long as that solution does not break the law. We are not asking for any changes in our list, we are asking for that portion that was kicked out to be investigated.

I am enjoying Alex Onyia’s audacity. His can-do attitude is out of this world. Visiting his page is time well spent. All I see is value for money. I don’t think that Nigerians can truly appreciate the magnitude of what he has started, at least not yet! As a serious nation, these are exactly the types of conversations we ought to be having. He called them the “The three wise men,” & I concur. I see a breath of fresh air. This is a far departure from Pella & Big Brother Naija. This is no “Olodo Uprising.” Finally, I have found the hill I will die on. Exposing the children to a world-class education at this formative stage has changed their worldviews completely These children are Geniuses already. They only needed a little exposure to complete a perfect triumvirate. Alex just armed the kids with a powerful weapon. Now they feel like they can take on the world. Twenty years from now, the world will definitely hear their name & fame. The South East Maths Olympiad & the ongoing STEM Olympiad in Rome are eye-openers. I love the fact that his team streamed the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad Grand Finale, where the winners emerged. I am glad the entire process was conducted publicly. By doing so, he cleared doubts & ensured that utmost integrity & transparency were met. Tribalism should not be allowed in education. The politics of Nepotism & Quota System should have no business in education. Merit & transparency should be the only yardsticks. LET THE BEST OF US LEAD THE REST OF US! WESTERN EDUCATION SAVED CHINA! The four Asian Tigers (Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, & Taiwan) did not grow by selling akara, agbado, nor kulikuli. If Nigeria will make it, then STEM Education is the only forward. My only fear is retainership. Nigeria is going to lose these brains to America, Canada, China, Germany, Australia, & the UK. As Arabs, we need to understand that Israel and the West are not our oppressors or enemies. We, Arabs, are our own worst enemies. We, Arabs, are our greatest oppressors. We, Arabs, have killed and oppressed a million times more of our people than the West and Israel can ever do. It is not Israel that married off my mother when she was a child. It is my people who did. It is not the West or Israel that has been bombing Yemen for the past decade and killed 400,000. It is us, Arabs, who did it. It is not the Israel that implanted Islamic extremism in the East and the West. It is our mosques, it is the books we worship, it is the Imams we follow, it is what we learn and what we teach. It is not the West that forces us to treat women like commodities. It is our people. And most of all, it is not the West or Israel that doesn’t value Arab lives. It is us, Arabs, who do not value human life. If we do not admit to ourselves that WE are the problem, that WE are refusing to progress, and that WE need to change – then change will never happen, blood will keep flowing, and we will never know peace. This isn’t a new story of injustice; it’s the same story told with new names. A 15-year-old Black girl, Latasha Harlins, was killed and her shooter walked. Decades later, 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack Belton is killed and the man who shot him walks too. The law has shown us, over and over, that when the victim is a Black child, accountability becomes optional. We are not simply mourning; we are indicting a system that protects those who kill our children while criminalizing our communities for far less. These cases are not tragic misunderstandings; they are the logical outcome of a justice system that has decided our lives are negotiable.
