THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX | How to solve Kerala’s train travel problem once and for all with ₹150 crore? 🧵 In 2012, the Oomen Chandy government came up with a plan to build a high-speed rail corridor from Mangalore to Trivandrum. The estimated cost was around ₹1.18 lakh crore. It was planned to be funded through a Japanese loan from JICA. The project was opposed by the then opposition parties. The project was eventually dropped. In 2020, the present Left government under Pinarayi Vijayan brought back the high-speed rail project, named SilverLine, with a cost estimate of ₹64,000 crore. These numbers were rejected by NITI Aayog, which estimated the cost at around ₹1.2 lakh crore. There were strong public protests against forceful land acquisition, and the project was dropped by the government in 2022. We also strongly opposed it, as our estimate was that the final cost would easily cross ₹1.5 lakh crore, ticket prices would go up to around ₹6,000 to make it viable, and there would not be enough ridership. Now it is BJP’s turn. They opposed both earlier projects and have now come up with a new proposal using DMRC’s former chairman, Padma Vibhushan Dr. E. Sreedharan, who later joined BJP. This high-speed rail proposal, unlike SilverLine, is 90% elevated and ends at Kannur instead of Kasargod or Mangalore. The estimated cost is around ₹200 crore per kilometre, with an overall cost of more than ₹80,000 crore. Fair enough. However, the estimate of ₹200 crore per kilometre looks like an underestimate when we look at the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train. That project started with a cost of ₹216 crore per kilometre and has now reached ₹393 crore per kilometre, even though it is only half completed. By the time it is finished, the cost could touch ₹500 crore per kilometre, if not more. Leaving these big and fancy projects aside, let us come back to the core problem and look at it differently. Take a close look at this video. This shows the weekly train schedule from Kannur towards the south. If you observe carefully, the green-coloured trains are those that run within Kerala, while the red ones are outstation trains that either terminate at stations in Kerala or pass through the state. I wanted to give this video a visual also so here it is: ❌Elected Verona Murphy #voteverona who can't speak a word of Irish, who gave Micheal Lowry speaking rights in opposition ❌Argued for days on end demanding government members be placed in opposition and given speaking rights ❌Fianna Fáil Fine Gael then awarded themselves two weeks holidays ❌FFG returned to tell us housing was their #1 priority but we found out they lied about housing data in 2024 ❌Briefly mentioned the notion of allowing people to live in sheds, remember that? ❌Homelessness increased and continues to ❌Awarded themselves a pay rise but no such pay rise for us peasants in the years budget ❌So those that relied upon credits to pay utility bills have to purchase more blankets at the cost of living rates ❌Almost half of families in Ireland are struggling to make ends meet with tens of thousands of parents skipping meals so children can eat ❌And on the back of that news FFG raised college tuition fees despite pre-election promise of lowering educational costs ❌In a moronic attempt to make lower the cost of housing they allowed landlords to increase rental rates ❌Days later it was revealed that 80% of homes purchased the prior year were in fact purchased by those "hard pressed" landlords ❌Children that didn't need surgeries were given them purely for financial gain, and children that did require them became inoperable and sadly Harvey Morrisson Sherratt passed away ❌FFG voted against a women's healthcare reform for women suffering with endometriosis more readily available. ❌We had a housing Czar, then he vanished, then it he was back only for him to vanish again and be told by the actual housing minister to expect more child homelessness In summary 📈House prices up, with housing targets missed 📈Educational prices up 📈Grocery prices up 📈Utility prices up 💶Whilst they gave themselves a pay rise. With the same money, houses could have been built for 25 lakh poor people. Within two hours of naming Harish Rao, I was suspended. Even a person facing death is asked for their last wish in this country. But I was unjustly thrown out of the party. I could legally challenge my suspension, but I will not challenge an unethical party. Today I am leaving this House as an individual. In the future, I will return before you as a force. Telangana needs a political party that truly works for it. In the coming Assembly elections, we will stand as a force for the people.

I have lived through the Kibaki years, the Uhuru years, and now the Ruto years. Every administration had its own mistakes, scandals, and critics. No government has ever been perfect. There is one thing many ordinary Kenyans understand better than government statistics they remember how life felt. During Kibaki's time, people complained, protested, and demanded better leadership. Yet, for many families, putting food on the table wasn't a daily battle. Children went to school. Farmers had hope that their harvest would sustain them. If someone fell sick, there was at least some confidence they could seek treatment without their family being pushed to the edge. Under Uhuru, there were serious concerns about corruption, debt, and the direction of the country. Those issues mattered. But for many households, there was still a sense that if you worked hard, you could survive. Parents kept their children in school. Small businesses stayed open. NHIF helped many families through medical emergencies. Today, the conversations have changed. They are no longer just about politics or corruption. They are about survival. Parents wake up wondering what their children will eat. School fees have become an impossible burden for many families. Patients remain in hospitals because they cannot clear their bills. Young people with dreams now spend their days chasing any opportunity just to make it to tomorrow. The most heartbreaking part is seeing children become victims of circumstances they never created. When hunger becomes so desperate that some leave school and drift into crime just to survive, it is not only a family that has failed it is a warning that something is deeply wrong. A country should never reach a point where parents fear the dinner table more than the ballot box. When hunger becomes the loudest voice in a nation, every other promise loses its meaning.

In my short video report, I spent time in al-Mansouri in August 2025, where many are still reeling from the losses of the 2024 war with Israel—families lost, homes destroyed, and communities stripped of what they see as their means of defense. At the time of filming, there was heavy pressure on the Lebanese government to disarm the Lebanese resistance, Hezbollah—and despite the ceasefire that followed the 2024 war, Israel violated it thousands of times. Lecture in Kabul about Shia vs Sunni (rough translation); This is a hot topic today, let us pray that Allah (swt) removes this enmity and animosity between us. The Muslim Ummah has been destroyed by this jealousy, grudge and enmity. It has destroyed our unity. It is the English who have turned us against each other, they have spread suspicion between sects and schools of thoughts. Let us remember that this war which America and Israel is waging is not against Shias, it is a war against Islam. America and Israel are thinking about destroying Islam. They are not thinking about “this is Shia and this is Sunni”. They did this in Iraq, pelting Shias and Sunnis against each other. They did the same in Syria. They were here in Afghanistan for 20 years, where was the talk about Shia? Were they talking and fighting Shias? No. The sole purpose of America and Israel is to make Muslims weak. Because for 1,200 years in this world, it was Muslims running empires. Muslims were powerful rulers under the banner of Islam. So America and Israel don’t want Muslims to stand on their feet again and become rulers of the world. If someone raises his head as a Muslim, they take care of them right there and then. There must be few thousand people in this majlis, forgive my language, they either take out the head, or take out the bottom (castrate then). They have castrated many countries, they have castrated the Arab countries, including Pakistan. I hope no one says that is a Muslim country with an atom bomb, no, Pakistan is castrated. The atom bomb is not under its own control, it is under the control of the English and Americans. They say we will either chop the head of a Muslim, or chop the bottom of a Muslim. Is this true or not, tell the truth? Allah (swt) says; “And prepare against them whatever you are able of power” In that era, it was swords, horses, armors, helmets, this was in the era of the prophet (pbuh). Now, those things will not work. Today, even a gun is not sufficient, now it is missiles, drones, atom bombs, press a switch and it goes to its destination. This is an order from Allah that Muslims should prepare against the enemy, and deter the enemy. Don’t start problems between each other over sects, otherwise you will be finished. Allah has said to us in the Quran; “and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart” You will be destroyed, your strength will be gone. This strength will be wasted and lost against each other. Is this true or not? These bullets, these weapons and martyrs from this side, and in that side, Pakistan fights Afghanistan under the command of America, right? They are Muslim, at least they are Muslim by name, it is a Muslim country, so wouldn’t it have been better if this strength, if those bullets and weapons were used against Israel and the enemies of Muslims?
