There is a huge misconception about South Sudan. Everyone thinks we actually sleep on trees and eat bullets day in day out. Juba is growing and roads are opening up. All urban roads are 4 lanes. There is a different side of us that isn't reported.

Very true though, I lived in juba for 2 years,When I first went I thought war is there anytime but for those no war was in juba. Same things they do for congo. #M23 control less than 0,3% of congo land & in Kivu they control less than half but media amplify it as if it's burning

There is nobody to report for you if you don't do it yourself. I stayed there in 2015, am not sure anybody likes open defecation, too, the Modari always threatening the Bali. But if Salvar Kiir is raising his son to succeed him, well, we shall believe whatever is reported.

I personally doubt that. There is no stark evidence on that cuz I feel we are getting worst everyday. What's good about the buildings without peace.

Juba was beautiful even 15 years ago. Nothings makes a place shine like beautiful people and smiles

Juba has potential of doing better than the existing cities in the region. You still don't have established slums. However, it would require the government's control of urban planning, the housing sector, and the road works.
