The surveillance state is coming “A law passed recently by the United States Congress mandates cameras in all new passenger vehicles that assess the face of the driver, whether he's eating or yawning or who knows what he's doing, having a private conversation. Well, there are no more private conversations, even within the confines of your own vehicle” This is real and is Section 24220 of the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act The law defines “advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology” as a system that must do one or more of the following: (A) Passively monitor the performance of a driver to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired, and prevent or limit the vehicle’s operation if impairment is detected. “There are only two religions on earth” Interesting take.. In both scenarios the true essence of ascending from oneself or one’s life is through the process of becoming closer to that which is greater than self. Either by mirroring God through your life or by removing the ego in the present moment to shift your consciousness in such a way that you share the same space with the Creator. In both of these scenarios there starts with the belief or faith that there is a something greater than “I” or self. It is a way of being, a path taken. It is not “religion” or “books” that save us, these are only guides or guardrails. But it is within our own being the ability to ascend, or create that relationship. Not through good deeds and donating to charity or receipting every Bible verse, but an internal alignment of values, a perspective that seeks Truth, Life and wholeness in ALL things, not for profit or personal gain but because it IS the way of the universe. Humans have free will, the ability to choose, and it is this choice that gives us the power, the power to change or stay the same. It all starts within.

As a young man in my early twenties, I’m unsure if I would have made the same decision as Michael Jordan…but what I do know is that these kind of sliding door moments are all around us every day… In different flavours and in varying degrees of influence…but they really are all around us. This can be as small as choosing to get up a little earlier, completing that bit of work that needs finishing rather than stopping, or reading those extra few pages to learn a little more (rather than skipping over them). Or it can be bigger moments - summoning up the courage to have that conversation that can make a difference to your career (rather than being passive from fear), or owning up to a mistake that has been costly to the people around you (rather than ignoring it and damaging relationships at a later time). I write all of this not because I’m some kind of machine that gets these moments right. I write this not because I’m someone who makes great decisions all the time and walks through the right door often. On the contrary, I regularly miss the door or walk with carefree abandon through the wrong one. I write this as a reminder to myself. Those sliding door moments are all around us. They impact our relationships, success and enjoyment at work, and experiences in life. Moments make a life. That’s worth thinking about daily…

The 'UFC is cooked' comments are getting out of hand. Sure, May wasn't the strongest month. Saturday was a wacky and weird event. But the biggest fight of the month, JDM x Belal, overdelivered. And look at June. It's going to be fantastic. July, as well. May wasn't great, but this is not an indication that the sport is washed or that the UFC is going down the tubes. It was just a bad month on paper that, for the most part, led to a pretty bad month as far as results are concerned. We move on and it will be a distant memory.

Do not rely on international organisations like the United Nations or the European Community to make or to keep a peace with freedom and justice. There is no substitute for national leadership. Of course, it would be churlish not to give the UN credit for what it has achieved, particularly in Cambodia. Where, as in the Gulf, it has been given strong leadership, by one or more nation states, it has been effective. But we delude ourselves if we think that it will be capable of moving with the speed, the will and the determination needed to keep the peace without such a lead from nation states. The United Nations depends on consensus and that is simply not an adequate basis for action or for readiness to take combat risks (as we have seen in Bosnia). Act in concert, yes. But act by consensus and you may not act at all. Indeed, as I've so often said, consensus is the negation of leadership. If we attempt to rely solely on the United Nations, we shall soon learn that it is an institution where copious resolutions become a substitute for effective action.

I was asked by USA Today to respond to remarks made by Hasan Piker about Zionism. Piker claimed as follows: “Zionism is the ethnoreligious supremacist ideology that is exterminationist in principle, born out of the wrong assessment that this was a land without people for a people without land. It required the extermination of the indigenous population, and that's precisely what has happened since its inception. And its final iteration of that has been the Gaza genocide that we watched unfold.” You can call a blowtorch an avocado as many times as you want, but it still doesn’t have a seed, and it still isn’t green because it’s still just a blowtorch. The claim that Zionism is an exterminationist ideology is just as nonsensical as calling a blowtorch an avocado. The suggestion that Jews want to exterminate the Arabs who also live on the land is likewise, as it has always been, ludicrous and false. Zionism is a simple idea, which is that Jews have the same rights — not more rights, but also not fewer rights — than every other people on Earth have to sovereignty in their national homeland. So just as you might think that Bulgarians have the right to sovereignty in their homeland, Japanese people, Korean people, German people all have the right to sovereignty in their homeland, Zionism is just the idea that Jews should be treated the same. By the way, this is in the charter, the charter that is the foundation of the state of Israel. In that document, the word ‘extermination,’ of course, would never appear there, but anything that even remotely resembles that word or idea is foreign to any of the early laws or that document. In fact, the document says precisely the opposite. The document says that one of the purposes of the state of Israel is to allow Jews and Arabs alike to live in peace and to flourish together in the land of Israel. That's what the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel says, and by the way, that's what the state of Israel has proven, more so than what it said in 1948, in the decades since.

This is a very disturbing extract of an interview with Naledi Pandor. In essence, the existence of an independent Afrikaans institution she finds incompatible with any notion of a society. Traces of this should rather be expunged as she phrased as “we are too complacent with our freedom”. What she is advocating for is wide-spread public condemnation of anything that resembles the cultural expression of Afrikaans as language or Afrikaners as a people. Not only that - the “we” she refers to is stated in a totalitarian sense. Not an individual expressing an opinion, but the body of the state that should disallow by force or legislative means, anything that does not conform to their thwarted societal view. This passage of Nineteen Eight-Four comes to mind: “Obedience is not enough. Unless he is suffering, how can you be sure that he is obeying your will and not his own? Power is in inflicting pain and humiliation. Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your choosing…there will be no love, except the love of Big Brother.” As for AfriForum and other institutions of the Solidarity Movement, we see this. We will not succumb to naivety of the intentions that the political order that Pandor aspires to. On the basis of mutual recognition and respect, we shall build a future. Our notion of freedom does not derive from a state that determines how we should think and act, but rather the freedom of individuals and communities giving expression to their talents and capabilities.

That being said, the benefit that playing multiple sports has been documented over and over again. I try to frame it to our athletes and parents from a development standpoint is that …. sometimes what you are looking to improve on in your main sport, can be found by playing a different sport.

With all due respect to the hundreds of millions of decent Muslims, they must acknowledge that there are millions of Muslim men who, as a result of how Islam portrays infidels, their dehumanization and the objectification of their women, come to see non-Muslim women as whores to be used, regardless of age. I was a Muslim, and I grew up under that system. I was taught that non-Muslims are pimps because they allow their women to go out in public uncovered; that they don’t mind “sharing” their women; that their women enjoy being whores; that they are not like Muslim women. Yes, this view is rampant in the Islamic world, and I don’t care what some Muslims say, if they deny this, they are lying. How can this reality be changed? There is no way to end this mentality without exposing the sacred heritage of Islam. Can someone explain to me how it’s “Islamophobic” to be deeply alarmed by this? I’m not quoting critics of Islam. I’m not “misinterpreting” texts. I’m literally listening to Muslims themselves clearly affirm that, in an ideal Islamic state, apostates should be executed and that blasphemy deserves death as well. If that truly reflects their theology and their model society, why is fear considered irrational or bigoted? It isn’t hatred of Muslims to say this is terrifying, it’s a sober response to what the doctrine itself demands. In a Christian ideal society, people are free to believe or not believe. Violence is not the enforcement tool of orthodoxy. The highest moral expression is love, not compulsion. So why is it wrong to say that people have a legitimate reason to be afraid of a system that openly sanctions death for disbelief or criticism?
