Odd thing is Keir Hardie & the labour movement of the 19th century believed immigration made ordinary people disposable & were vehemently against it. He also warned about the representatives of Labour getting coopted by liberalism. The Attlee government also opposed immigration.

Leadership climate is set at the top. So, when President Trump calls for me to be killed and hanged, many people take that as license to call my office and say even worse. But what has been so heartening is that even more called in with positive feedback and encouragement. There are many here in Washington who want us to think that America is hopelessly divided. I refuse to accept that. There is more that unites us than divides us, any day of the week. And we can’t be intimidated out of advocating for the country we all love.
