The Oba has spoken. I have been one of the people who has advocated against the division mentality that some Esan and Edo (Benin) people are pushing, especially on social media. I have always argued that it is not in our collective best interest. Nigeria is a clash of civilisations. Why would it make sense to be dividing ourselves when the differences that we have aren’t much compared to what we see in other ethnic groups? The Edo (Benin) and Esan are even supposed to be part of the same ethnic group, if not for modern-day politics. All of you people seeking division among the Esan and Edo (Benin), your plan will fail. Now is the time to foster unity and for Pan-Edoism. We are one, now and forever.
