THERE IS NO IMPLOSION or EXPLOSION in ZANU PF, however, there are SERIOUS matters that need to be ironed out especially in the post-CAB3 era. There are NO FACTIONS in ZANU PF, however there are ambitious/admired people who have some unofficial followers/supporters. As it stands, President President of Zimbabwe...

President President of Zimbabwe posed AN IMPORTANT QUESTION to the ZANU PF Central Committee: “Is there anyone here who can stand up & advise us on what we should do to IMPROVE the lives of the people???” The room went silent. Cde Tendai Chirau & others offered their views on the matter. Let’s scrutinise the President’s Question a bit more! 1. This question could have been directed at INTERNAL CRITICS, more so those who are AMBITIOUS & opposing CAB3. In this case, the President was saying: “since you think you can be great leaders, here is an opportunity to show the people that you have a plan for this country. For someone aiming to be a leader in the future, the President has given them an opportunity to kickstart their campaign! 2. This question could have been a policy question. The President has always made it clear that he is A LISTENING PRESIDENT. In this regard, he was asking: Which policies should change & which new policies should we introduce??? Again, this was an opportunity for the “EMERGING LEADERS/STARS” in ZANU PF to shine. Someone could have said: “Your excellency, energy is one of the drivers of economic growth. For us to increase the pace of economic growth as we journey towards Vision 2030, the govt should take steps to reduce energy costs in the country. As a starting point, the govt should reduce taxes on fuel. The price of electricity should also be reduced in a sustainable manner. As much as it affects the govt’s revenues, we should be bold enough to work towards the reduction of energy costs in this country.” This is an example of a POLICY CHANGE that DIRECTLY IMPACTS ordinary people & also has a positive impact on the country’s economy! What would you have said???

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗭𝗔𝗡𝗨 𝗣𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗕𝟯. 𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗, 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗧𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘. The difference between me and most others is that I don’t take things personally. Dr. Paul Tungwarara, Wicknell, other members of ZANU PF, and the Varakashi fought for CAB3 to go through. They put up a strong fight and succeeded. We lost, but it’s not the end of the world. Yes, I did not support CAB3 from an ideological perspective, but now that it has been passed, we leave it to the courts while we as citizens unite beyond our differences and start to build our country. What is ironic is that before and during CAB3, many business opportunities opened up for me in Zimbabwe over the past seven years, making the business trajectory bright. So despite differing ideologically, the Second Republic has made economic sense for me commercially. So I have made a decision: Congratulations to the CAB3 team! It’s time we put our differences aside, unite, and build this commonwealth that we call Zimbabwe. I refuse to die on the mountain of resisting CAB3, because this government has made doing business in Zimbabwe feasible. We have done all we could to contest differing political positions, but the reality is CAB3 is now law. It’s time to build Zimbabwe, which has honestly opened huge opportunities for those who want to make money.

There will be gnashing of teeth after CAB3– Chadzamira MORRIS BISHI MASVINGO – Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ezra Chadzamira has warned party members opposing Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 (CAB3) that there is going to be gnashing of teeth when that process is done and dusted. Speaking at a Zanu PF Provincial Inter-district Meeting at Clovelly in Masvingo on Saturday, Chadzamira told the gathering that he and the Minister of State for Security, Lovemore Matuke are aware of the political activities of every MP and councilor and secret meetings that are being held to derail the passage of the Bill. CAB3 if passed will allow President Mnangagwa to rule for another two years after 2028 without going to an election and the same will apply to MPs. There is a public outcry over the amendment process with lawyers arguing that extending Mnangagwa and Parliament’s life without a referendum is illegal. Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and top retired army generals have openly opposed the amendments and vowed to fight them. This lady said her views, which is what we encourage… The 90 days are for that! These discussions are better than a YES/NO referendum vote! But her argument is premised on LITTLE UNDERSTANDING of the proposed system. The system is NOT NEW, it was used in the 1980 & 1985 elections in Zimbabwe. It was only changed in 1990. It’s also the system used in the majority of countries in the world including South Africa, Australia, Canada, India, the UK. Even the United States doesn’t have a Direct Election of the President, they use the electoral college system. The Presidential Candidates will be known from the beginning because they come from the political parties that Zimbabweans vote for… There is no disconnection between the MP & the President, their relationship is forged and cemented during the election campaigns & on the election day. There is a reason this system is used in the most established democracies: They realised it brings STABILITY & encourages unity. In future, we will see Coalition Governments in Zimbabwe… Political parties can form alliances to elect a president of their choice. This is now the Case in South Africa where the ANC & the DA teamed up to make Ramaphosa the President. Because of this, politics will be MUCH LESS toxic! The voter’s power to choose a President is FIRMLY protected because the voters choose the President’s Electors… if you want a ZANU PF President you vote for ZANU PF MPs.
