We are fast transforming from a cohesive United Kingdom into a fractious (dis-)United Nations Without urgent action the British people will soon be little more than silent witnesses to the long and not-so-slow death of the most remarkable nation of the past 1,000 years The time has come to follow the Swedish government's example and encourage & incentivize legal immigrants to either return to their country of origin or leave for a 3rd nation. This must be accompanied by a separate policy of mass deportations of illegal migrants. Astonishingly, between 1 in 50 and 1 in 100 people in the UK are illegal migrants. If implementing this policy means leaving the ECHR, so be it. The ECHR is no longer the institution we helped set up. We certainly do not need the ECHR to protect fundamental rights, most of which were already protected in Britain long before the creation of the ECHR. To all those who say: "Only Belarus and Russia are not in the ECHR, do we really want to join their ranks?", my response is: Canada, Australia and New Zealand are also not in the ECHR and no one would accuse them of disregarding fundamental rights & freedoms. Over the past quarter of a century, Labour & the Tories have wrought upon this land the greatest act of harm in our long island story. Neither party is fit to govern - and they certainly aren't courageous enough to take the urgent action we so desperately require. I joined Mike Graham 🇬🇧 on Talk to discuss:👇
