It's not even close, because what we have built here in this district, this grassroots movement, is part of something bigger that is happening across the south and is happening across this country. Because we are tired of people outside of this state telling us that the south is backwards, that it's hopeless and it's destined to be ruled by the same powerful people again and again. The south is not silent because the south has something to say. And Tennessee, we are leading the way. We have inspired an entire country. They are with us tonight and they are so proud. we’re able to do. And we may not have won tonight, but we changed the story of what's possible here. And we're not done, not by a long shot.

[WATCH] We have said we want loadshedding to be gone by December, we have further said that the action plan that is being implemented must take us to guaranteeing energy security for permanent exit from loadshedding and not for electioneering purposes, but rather for fixing the economy, and that remains our key goal. If loadshedding ends before the end of December then we will be elated, however, if it goes beyond that then there must be a reasonable explanation as to what is holding us back. As the ANC, there we are expecting the timelines to be fully implemented by December, and we are very much hopeful that we will get out of this, guaranteeing the nation a long lasting solution of doing away with loadshedding #ANCatWork

This is how much this man hates South Africa and Africa. He lies that there is a white genocide in South Africa. He made this speech yesterday. He continues to lie that there is a genocide in South Africa. That is why I do not understand the African idiots who support this man. You have to be a big black African idiot to support Donald Trump. South Africa is the biggest economy in Africa. It has taken care of millions of Africans, giving them an opportunity to pursue their dreams and to feed their families. There are millions of Africans living in South Africa, and yet Donald Trump is trying to destroy that economy that helps many Africans to sustain a decent living. And yet there is a black African who supports this man and sees Trump as a hero. Trump is an idiot. I do not care about him. But I am astonished that there is a black African somewhere in Africa seeing Donald Trump as a hero, and yet the same Donald Trump is trying to destroy the biggest economy in Africa for no apparent legitimate reason. South Africa has done nothing wrong to America, nothing wrong to Donald Trump, and yet yesterday he made this shameless speech. This makes me absolutely angry, livid, to know that there is an African out there who supports this idiot. He is running his racist refugee programme. He has blocked all other black nationals from Africa from seeking asylum in America. That is fine. We do not care about America. But he is using his racist programme to try and destroy the very mainstay of African economics, because that is what South Africa is to Africans. There is no country in Africa that does not have its nationals in South Africa. It takes a certain level of ignorance and idiocy for any black African to support and hail this man as a hero. This man wants to destroy our continent, and yet some African idiot is out there twerking for this guy.

There are many people in South Africa and in the USA who are working hard to tell the world that those of us who are concerned about the future of South Africa are exaggerating, or that we are busy with some dark agenda. Our greatest task is to gather support for solutions. But to have the conversation about solutions it is important that there is certainty about what exactly the problem is that needs to be solved. As far as Lex Libertas is concerned, the crisis can be summarized under three headings: 1. A destructive policy framework; 2. Disintegration of the state; and 3. The persecution of minorities. This is why the White Cross project is so important. We must give the world credible information about exactly what is happening in South Africa.

We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. And despite the trauma we’ve faced, we are in Israel, standing strong together, committed to the memories of those we lost and to the return of our hostages. The reason is as obvious as it is infuriating: his perspective on cryptocurrency and federal abuse of power are a threat to the tyrants who have highjacked our system and wish to continue unopposed. No one understands these forces better than Donald J. Trump, who has faced them head on. President Trump should think carefully about the nature of the opposition to a pardon for Mr. Ver. .Naval: You define wealth in a beautiful way. You talk about wealth as a set of physical transformations that we can affect. So as a society it becomes very clear that knowledge leads directly to wealth creation for everybody. A given individual can obviously affect physical transformations proportional to the resources available to them—but much more proportional to the knowledge available to them. Knowledge is a huge force multiplier. You then define resources as the thing that you combine with knowledge to create wealth. New knowledge allows you to use new things as resources and discard old things that maybe we’re running out of. There are lots of examples of how we’ve done that in the past. For example, in energy we’ve gone from wood to coal to oil to nuclear. But then people say, “Now we’re out of ideas. Now we’re caught up. Now we’re done. There aren’t going to be new ideas, and now we have to freeze the frame and conserve what we have.” The counter to that is, “No, we’ll create new knowledge and have new resources. Don’t worry about the old ones.” Well they say, “If you’re going to have new resources, if you can’t think of them now, it’s not real.” This now gets into the realm of people demanding that if you’re going to claim that new knowledge will be created, you have to name that knowledge now. Otherwise it’s not real. But that seems like a Catch-22. David Deutsch: It does, and it’s a bad argument. I don’t want to claim that the knowledge will be created. We’re fallible; we may not create it. We may destroy ourselves. We may miss the solution that’s right under our nose, so that when the snailiens come from another galaxy and look at us, they’ll say, “How can it possibly be that they failed to do so-and-so when it was right in front of them?” That could happen. I can’t prove or argue that it won’t happen. What I always argue, though, is that we have what it takes. We have everything that it takes to achieve that. If we don’t, it’ll be because of bad choices we have made, not because of constraints imposed on us by the planet or the solar system. Naval: It will be by anti-rational memes that restrict the creation of knowledge and the growth of knowledge. David Deutsch: Maybe. Or maybe it’ll be by well-intentioned errors, which nobody could see why they were errors. Again, it doesn’t take malevolence to make mistakes. Mistakes are the normal condition of humans. All we can do is try to find them. Maybe not destroying the means of correcting errors is the heart of morality; because if there is no way of correcting errors, then sooner or later one of those will get us. Naval: Don’t destroy the means of error correction is the base of morality. I love that. I think about places like North Korea where you can’t have elections and a revolution is very difficult because the gang in charge is armed to the teeth and they’ve destroyed the means of political error correction for a long time. That is a case where humanity is trapped in a local minimum, and it’s very hard to climb out of that hole. If too much of the world falls into that mindset, then we as a species may just stagnate because we’ve lost our biggest advantage. We’ve lost our biggest discovery, which was the ability to make new discoveries.

There are many people who come to our country and many come to our country to contribute to the wealth of our country and its progress. Many contribute positively in our country. There are people in our country who have taken it upon themselves to do things which the vast majority do not condone and this must not paint South Africans as xenophobic. Indeed we do have a challenge of illegal immigration in South Africa and it’s not a problem unique to South Africa. There are many country’s affected by this. South Africa is a signatory of the Geneva Convention and we must deal with this challenge within the perimeters of the law. We can’t deal with it with hatred. That is why government has adopted a program of action to deal with this particular challenge which the President has made a public announcement. We have called for law enforcement and calmness and follow the government’s Action Plan on dealing with illegal immigration. We have made it very clear as the ANC, we cannot and should not be associated with anything that amounts to hate crimes. In this particular instance the majority of South Africans are people of Ubuntu and humanity.
