FSD 12.5 runs a red light I want to share this to have a healthy discussion regarding this situation. This isn't in anyway an attempt to hate on FSD 12.5, I still believe this is the best release of FSD so far. Yesterday on my drive FSD for the first time ever (for me) decided to proceed on a VERY stale (red?) light. I was a bit surprised about its decision to do this, and I am wondering if perhaps the traffic light being set back (before the intersection starts there's a light on my left) has anything to do with this? Technically the car passes the light/stop line as it is still yellow. As a human driver I may have proceeded on this light if I was in a rush, but I am not sure if a robotaxi should make that same decision. To blend into LA traffic, FSD needs better unprotected left behavior. When already in the intersection behind a lead car, you are expected to close the gap and clear the turn together once opposing traffic stops, even if the light turns red. That is legal, normal, and how traffic flows. FSD still freezes here. Tesla AI

Since v14, FSD has this weird obsession with moving from the inner lane to the outer lane during a left turn. For me, it happens on every two-lane left turn. And it does it in a very jerky, dangerous way — even if it means cutting in front of another car, FSD will still insist on doing it. Is this because FSD is more afraid of hitting the curb at the corner than of getting rear-ended by someone else? This really feels like a serious bug to me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the model is overfitted to avoid curbs during turns, or because it was trained to always end up in the rightmost lane after a left turn. I honestly don’t know, but I really hope this gets fixed soon.

there is a driver on the wall, he is still inside his car after a moment and his car is still rolling forwards at the fastest section of the circuit the outrage is about how egregious it is that this was deemed a “single yellow” in the first place when it should’ve been a red.

$Posting this as a Tesla FSD public service and the outside chance Tesla see’s this. Yesterday FSD nearly drove into the concrete jersey barrier on hwy 17 as I was traveling to Santa Cruz California. I intervened a fraction of a second before impact. This video doesn’t show the event but does show the conditions a few minutes later when I thought to honk the horn to save a clip. I have used FSD for years and this was the most epic fail. Note that there is little margin for error. I am on hw3 and have NOT received 14 lite Tesla AI Elon Musk Please tag the appropriate team if you can.$

I have never experienced this kind of hesitation on a left turn before, even in earlier versions, where it would stop mid-turn and block the path of a car going straight. As the car starts to turn, an electric bike in the bike lane comes speeding down and well, as you can see, smashes into the car and flips over the front. Luckily he gets up and is walking. He could have been seriously injured. To me, this is quite literally why they say you’re not supposed to just stop in the middle of a street to let someone turn. Some are saying it’s the red car’s fault for stopping and letting the driver turn. Others are saying in their state, an electric bike is like a motorcycle and has to obey the traffic laws. Who is at fault? Do you think the electric bike should have been in the bike lane traveling that fast? The red car for letting the car turn left when it can’t see, or is it the drivers responsibility to make sure all is clear before proceeding?

I think I’m the only Korean in the world invited to Tesla’s Cybercab launch this week. And from what I can tell so far on 𝕏, Tesla/Elon invited only around ~20 or so people, not counting +1s. But that’s the part I can’t stop thinking about… Why make an event this important THIS exclusive? Cybercab is a vehicle with no steering wheel and no pedals, built from the ground up for autonomous transportation. If Tesla pulls this off at scale, it will completely change what a car is, what it costs to move people around, and eventually what transportation itself means. So why invite only a tiny handful of people to witness the beginning of it? There has to be a reason… And whatever happens on September 3, I’m forever grateful to Tesla and Elon for trusting me with an invite to be there in person and witness a moment like this. I really don’t take this opportunity lightly… I’m forever grateful. But September 3 is starting to feel much bigger than people realize…
