In addition, between April 2024 and Jan 2025, 34 kg of heroin, 34 kg of methamphetamine, 329.7 kg of ganja, 1.31 kg of nitrazepam, and 152 kg of cough syrup were also seized. 458 people were booked for drug trafficking. The number of arrests is only increasing. This means that these arrests have no deterrent effects on the supply and movement of drugs. We have raised this in Parliament also. A similar situation exists in Meghalaya, where the state minister has said that the total number of addicts in Meghalaya is roughly three lakh, which is 10 per percent of the population. This indicates an alarming rise in drug abuse. The most frightening aspect of this statistic is that the majority of the drug users are between the ages of 15-29. Hon'ble PM Modi, while referring to China, made light of the physical features of China, especially with respect to the shape of their eyes. Let me educate the Hon'ble PM that when young men and women come from the northeast to different parts of India, they're often teased for the very same physical features. Sources claim Tina Bhaumik Saha is a close associate of Dutta. Dutta is currently in jail in an extortion case. Police said the gold recovery has increased legal pressure on him. During the raid, investigators recovered multiple sets of heavy gold jewellery from almirahs and lockers in the house. Tina Bhaumik Saha could not explain the source of the gold. Police have seized all the jewellery and started a full investigation. Local and political sources said Tina Bhaumik Saha rose rapidly in Tehatta after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Though she had limited influence in Nadia district TMC politics, she maintained strong links in Kolkata and appeared publicly with Sabyasachi Dutta at several events. Residents had long questioned her lavish lifestyle and frequent display of expensive gold jewellery at political and social events. Six Bangladesh nationals, including two minors, were detained at Subhas Park in Tripura's Khowai district on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, Police raided a guest house and found that the six Bangladeshis were staying there. During preliminary interrogation, they made contradictory statements and could not provide any valid ID proof. The detainees later admitted to entering India illegally a month ago and travelling all the way up to New Delhi in search of work. They illegally got hold of Aadhaar, PAN and EPIC cards. Saxena’s office intimated the Delhi Chief Secretary, Delhi Police Commissioner, and other Senior Officials, regarding a sudden spurt in the number of illegal immigrants in the national capital. The LG’s Office asked the Delhi Police Chief to conduct a special drive for one month for the identification of illegal immigrants and take further action in coordination with Central agencies. Following this, like many other illegal Bangladeshis & Rohingyas who fled the National Capital fearing identification and ultimately detention, these 6 illegal Bangladeshis too returned to Tripura to cross over to their home country but were caught. They have been identified by Tripura Police as Ayesa Khatun (70), Mohd Kabir (37), Tania Begum (35), Mumin (23), Mohd Sakib (6) and Sahida (5). All of them hail from Feni district in Bangladesh. Six Bangladesh nationals, including two minors, were detained at Subhas Park in Tripura's Khowai district on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, Police raided a guest house and found that the six Bangladeshis were staying there. During preliminary interrogation, they made contradictory statements and could not provide any valid ID proof. The detainees later admitted to entering India illegally a month ago and travelling all the way up to New Delhi in search of work. They illegally got hold of Aadhaar, PAN and EPIC cards. In the meantime, about a month ago, Hon'ble Lieutenant-Governor Shri V.K. Saxena’s office intimated the Delhi Chief Secretary, Delhi Police Commissioner, and other Senior Officials, regarding a sudden spurt in the number of illegal immigrants in the national capital. The LG’s Office asked the Delhi Police Chief to conduct a special drive for one month for the identification of illegal immigrants and take further action in coordination with Central agencies. Following this, like many other illegal Bangladeshis & Rohingyas who fled the National Capital fearing identification and ultimately detention, these 6 illegal Bangladeshis too returned to Tripura to cross over to their home country but were caught. They have been identified by Tripura Police as Ayesa Khatun (70), Mohd Kabir (37), Tania Begum (35), Mumin (23), Mohd Sakib (6) and Sahida (5). All of them hail from Feni district in Bangladesh. Sadly,this incident occurred on the martyrdom of the first Agniveer of India. He hailed from my district, Mansa in Punjab. Amritpal Pal Singh was only 19 years old & had been recruited by Agniveer in December 2022. His duty was in J&K. Unfortunately, on this Wednesday he was martyred while on duty near LOC in Poonch(J&K). This is sad that his body was brought to the village by his family in a private ambulance not in army vehicle. No army unit was present at his cremation & no Army guard of honor was provided to him. On request request of villagers the local Police accorded a guard of honor for our brave young man. Officer Seriously Injured in Drug Sales Arrest; Suspect given $100 Bond Option BOULDER, Colo. – A Boulder Police officer was seriously injured last night after a drug suspect tried to run and the pair fell into Boulder Creek during the struggle. Today, I had the privilege of attending Paschimbanga Divas event, officially observed as the State Foundation Day by the State Government, first time since Independence, alongside Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji at Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district. The date June 20 and the venue is of historical significance as Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee had organised a Convention at Tarakeshwar in 1947, where a decision was taken to ensure that West Bengal remained within India and that the Hindu-majority areas of undivided Bengal did not become part of East Pakistan. Later, on June 20, 1947, a Resolution supporting the partition of Bengal and the inclusion of West Bengal as a in India was passed in the Bengal Legislative Assembly. Hon'ble Prime Minister while addressing the audience said the State of West Bengal is witnessing a renewed sense of confidence and pride and a new fragrance is wafting from every particle here; as if West Bengal has now broken free from its shackles.
