The Taliban regard Osama bin Laden as a Shaikh, and consider him as a pious wahhabi. Osama bin Laden is respected by the Taliban because he sacrificed his empire to help Muslims around the world. When the US accused Osama bin Laden of 9/11 attacks and wanted to prosecute him, the Taliban protected him as a brother, as a Muslim brother, and treated him as innocent until proven guilty. The Taliban sacrificed their kingdom, their homes, their families, their freedom and their sweet sweet lives to protect a pious wahhabi. The extreme wahhabis treat Muslims as guilty until proven innocent. This is the difference. May Allah (swt) guide the extreme wahhabis, if they are not worthy of guidance, may Allah (swt) destroy them.
