🦊 first of all, if i talk about that time.. i honestly couldn’t imagine that so many people would come but while i was getting my hair and makeup done, i heard from a staff that people were starting to gather at the store. so i was like “really?” then they showed me a photo and there were so many people. even during that time, the floor are was totally packed so i was like “what? this many people came?” at first i couldn’t believe it but by the time i arrived, there were really so many people 🦊 at first, i was like “even if people come, how many people could it really be?” i was honestly thinking like that. but there were really so many people that i was really shocked 🦊 the cheers were so loud. you know like when it’s that loud, you can’t even hear anything. there was a kind of ringing like “ting~” 🦊 so i was like “whoa” i keep going “whoa whoa” while greeting everyone. i came in like that 🦊 i was really surprised that time and it’s been a long time since i felt something like that

I really, really, really wanted to drop this song last year. When I first put out the snippet, I was so excited - but it was hard to finish it on time because everything was a blur. I was sick and weak and nauseous and tired and my body just wouldn't do what I wanted it to. Even in the snippet video, I wasn't feeling great. I was just trying my best. I adore Chike's voice and I knew it was him that had to be on the song with me. When I asked him to give me a verse, he was so ready to go, but he was out of town. As soon as he came back, he came over to my studio the next day 🥹. I got a lotta respect for him. He didn't know I was pregnant and suffering 😅 Watching this video back now, I can't even understand where the energy came from. When the song was done, I struggled to mix it. Even so, I decided to master it myself. I hate mastering, so I don't know what I thinking. I was so disappointed that I couldn't meet the deadline. Everyone had fallen in love with the song and was asking me to put it out. I didn't have the energy to make content. I don't even remember them recording this video. Given how much I love this song, I'm a little bummed I couldn't give it energy it deserves. But please, know that a lot of love and resilience went into this song. I remember it like it was yesterday, i was chilling in my flat in Auckland park when a car passed outside of my room because the road was very close to my window, when i heard that bass hitting hard on the roof of the building and I just knew that it was my song, a few seconds later Simphiwe Majola calls and says “your song is on Metro Fm right now” for the first time on radio. I could not believe it, but that’s the day I knew in the depth of my heart that the time had arrived, we were about to take over the music game. I can’t tell you why I was so sure but I was, and boy was I right. Everything that happened after that felt like a long movie I never thought I’d ever star in. I speak this with tears in my eyes, I’ve seen the favour of God is ways I will never fathom South Africa and the world at large. 🐰 at the the show venue today, when i got out the car…people were cheering really loud and even when i was coming out, i could hear people cheering right from when i was inside the building about to walk out 🐰 everyone was screaming “soobin! soobin!” and although it did make me a little shy, i was so grateful and it made me gain confidence 🐰 from what i know, i remember me being the only korean person at the show today and i was quite shy since i’m an introvert; it felt like i had been dropped at a foreign place all alone so it was a little…it was kinda physically exhausting but since italian moas and moas who came from various other places would cheer and scream my name every time i came out, it gave me confidence 🐰 thank you so much 💗 thank you so much to everyone who cheered me on today 👊

🐻‍❄ while working on this album, i don't think i ever had any worries whether it sounded 'too kpop', that's why i also hoped that you'd feel the same. honestly, i've been working on kpop for 12 years now, 15 if you include my trainee years. whatever i put out, it's kpop. from my perspective, it's not the sound that's important. whatever i release, i believe it'll be seen and accepted as kpop, so i took on it with that attitude
