These protesters were given political cover by Jacob Zuma’s MK Party and March and March, which are effectively pursuing the same agenda. They listened to their political leaders and went out to intimidate, harass and target Africans who are lawfully in the country. It hands ammunition to its critics, including countries such as Israel and political figures like Donald Trump, who point to scenes like these and argue that South Africa is descending into lawlessness. If people claim they are protesting against illegal immigration but then use that protest to loot businesses, harass and intimidate Africans who are legally in South Africa, as has been reported in this news reports, then this has nothing to do with illegal immigration. It is xenophobia. It is Afrophobia. That is precisely what those terms mean. It is deeply disturbing to watch South Africa take this dark turn, where black Africans are persecuted simply because they are African, even when they have the legal right to live and work in the country. This is not law enforcement. It is prejudice dressed up as activism. We warned from the very beginning that this movement was being driven by hatred of black Africans, not by a genuine concern for the rule of law. We were insulted, mocked and dismissed. Today, those who doubted us need only look at what is happening. The evidence is now in plain sight.

I hear so often from the Dommes I work with that they struggle with people online fetichizing them and simply seeing them for how sexy and beautiful they are. People ask me all the time why folks in the south can't see the North Star (Polaris). It's because it is simply too far away. (Same reason why northern observers cannot see the Southern Cross constellation). The celestial bodies dip down over the horizon when they reach around 6,000 miles (9,600km) away from our observation point on the ground (in the x-axis direction). You can confirm this yourself by taking note of the exact time the sun disappears from sight during sunset, and checking where on Earth it's noon at that time. It will be roughly 6,000 miles away. Our eyes cannot see infinitely! Increasing your altitude, and using a high-powered zoom lens will increase your optical range...but only slightly, as you can't do anything about the atmospheric thickness/smog.

They heard something that sounded like running water and went down stairs to investigate! Obviously this doesn't look good. And it's not a good sign, but what's your best guess for what would have caused something like this from just a heavy rain storm? (They said it was not a flooded yard). I guess the second thing is - What's your best guess for what this young couple will need to do in order to stop their basement from becoming an indoor wading pool every time it rains? 😬

These first time buyers claimed that they bought this 'flipper' house in 2025. Everything seemed OK until the first heavy rain! They heard something that sounded like running water and went down stairs to investigate! Obviously this doesn't look good. I think the local ospreys are always trying to outdo each other and when it comes to amazing fish to yank from the ocean, the ribbon fish is high on the list of rarities. I have only seen this a handful of times but every single time I have witnessed an osprey flying around with this prehistoric alien like creature clutched tightly in its talons, the osprey will look down in disbelief at its newly acquired meal and then proceed to parade it around the skies showing off to all the other birds in the area. Easily one of my favorite fish to see them haul away.
