These are some of the most terrifying practical special effects created by Rob Bottin for The Thing (1982). That special effects soundtrack bangs too. Pretty damn haunting.

It’s not talked about enough, but there isn’t a single wasted frame of this film. It’s tight as fuck, everything matters, and it comes in at a cool hour 50. That isn’t easy

Seriously Rob Bottin's Lovecraftian nightmare fuel are the greatest practical f/x & make-up ever committed to celluloid. I never ever tire of this particularly this sequence (the tendril shooting out of the head is still jaw-dropping HTF!Did they do that! *chef's kiss*
