But can marines arrest them or shoot them if necessary? I’m just trying to understand their abilities. Don’t get me wrong. I’m proud to see the Marines there. I just don’t want them caught up in anything messy legal loopholes where they end up in prison.

I do not know their rules of engagement. They are probably keeping it quiet or hidden otherwise the media would put it on blast. I would imagine if they are shot at or threatened with a deadly weapon they would have authorization to protect themselves and others.
