Government can clean the river but not the mentality of people. watch how a completely cleaned drain filled with solid waste in just one year, now government is removing that again.

A boy named Bittu from MP single handedly cleaned an entire river using his own hands. It's a matter of shame for our municipality.

Construction workers found a tied padlock with coin inside a river. They claim it's someone’s destiny that was tied an thrown into a river. May God help us all.

Chicago River Snapper aka Chonkosaurus. Great to see this beast thriving here on what was once such a toxic river, but is slowly getting cleaned up & restored. Somebody planted a bunch of native plants up the river from here, too. I can only wonder this things been eating.

Like Bittu Tabahi, 19-year-old Kartik Sahani decided to take action and create change himself. The Tamsa River in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, had become filled with waste. Kartik’s family’s farmland depends on this very river for irrigation. So he made a decision: He would clean the river himself. Every day, he spent 3–4 hours in the river cleaning it. In just 22 days, he removed more than 1,000 kg of waste. Now, after the river, his next target is a pond in his neighbourhood. Because creating change doesn’t always require a big team. Sometimes, one person taking the first step is enough. Is there a place in your city that needs to be cleaned up too? Kartik Sahani #KartikSahani #TamsaRiver #RiverCleanup #CivicSense #YouthForChange [Kartik Sahani Tamsa River cleanup, 19 year old cleaned Tamsa River alone, Kartik Sahani river cleaning Uttar Pradesh]

I was watching this video by Rainmatter Foundation about how Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) cleaned up the Kham river in 5 years. It had become a sewage drain, and they turned it back into a flowing river. Made me think about especially of Delhi's air quality problem. They mapped 249 waste entry points with drones and installed traps. Rerouted sewage to treatment plants and built new ones. Set up a facility for textile waste from factories. Cleaned the river and discovered springs that were buried under debris. Fixed waste collection across the city, removed 170 dump sites. The municipal commissioner joined weekend cleanups himself. Citizens showed up every Saturday. The key was stopping waste from entering the river in the first place, not just cleaning it. If a smaller city can pull this off in 5 years with the municipal corporation, NGOs, and citizens working together, I was wondering if governments, businesses, NGOs, and citizens actually collaborate, can't they make a difference in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and many other cities where the Air quality is really bad.
