They have a full routine for this. Obviously not their first rodeo.

Very impressive and clever work. I love how the firefighters are so calm and confident, must have been reassuring to these kiddos.

The human body is truly amazing. To be able to even get into a situation like this is crazy.

Once the head was through i feel like he should have kept going. Twist them shoulders and climb on out!

There’s another technique; if it’s a very small/light child; or if you have enough support for an adult Pick up the child; rotate so that they are looking up at the sky and then they put their head through the railings forward as they did in the first place

Of course, it is a boy.

Haha this happened to me as a kid.

One of the well know methods for child restraint while you're at the park.

That kid will never do that again. But maybe I will

Gosh, I'm sittin' here yelling "Pick the kid up! Pick the kid UP!" His head was too low between the bars, yeah?

Credit to the nannies heard in the background turning this into a teaching lesson for their kids.

Nothing sexier that a bunch of big buff men helping a little kid (or small animal)🥰 Glad baby is okay!

Maybe they need to make the distance between the bars wider.

poor baby must've been so embarrassed & scared 🥺 congrats to FDNY on another successful child vs fence rescue 👍

@hwinkler4real Little dude’s got a great story to tell 😆

None of those people had a car with a spare tire? The little scissor jack could have been used to get him out.

@goodell2017 If there’s a full routine for it, they could have at least come up with a better one like having actual clamps to flex the bars.

This happened to my sister at the old Vet Stadium in Philly when we were kids! Totally forgot about that until now. The difference was that her head was through the bars on the ramp at the top level, so scary!

@hwinkler4real Good job

FDNY is smiling because they know the child is going to be just fine.

High fiving his friends in typical school boy fashion 😂

@hwinkler4real This is NYC. So his mother‘s first words were probably, “have you learned your lesson?“

Straight from an episode of Leave it to Beaver. That poor kid.

Oh wow. Such a brave little boy and superb job done by FDNY, thank you.

@hwinkler4real They didn’t try having the kid step up and turn his body sideways before doing this? I guarantee that’s how he got there. He put his body through the gap not his head.

@SenatorCrossing Why not use a come along?

I bet he’ll never do that again.😩

The only thing they might have done to make it quicker is to pass the bar through the bars to twist the strap faster and easier.

🥹❤️🚒

Kid is obviously going to grow up MAGA

That didn't require an overpaid government employee.

Whoops!

It’s strange that so many people just stand there watching, without realizing they could have done it themselves using a tow rope and a lug wrench—items that should always be in the nearest car!
