They were really battling to pay the bill 😭

This is normal in Saudi Arabia 🫡💚🇸🇦

BTW, this has nothing to do with how much money they have in their bank account, it's just their normal behavior even if they don't have more than the amount of the bill. I'm not Saudi and I can testify to that. They are the kindest and most generous people ever.

Saudis are most generous human beings in the world

They've gone too far.

This is not a fight; it’s a friendly argument about who gets to pay the bill! In Saudi Arabia, generosity is a big part of our culture, and it’s common for friends or family to insist on paying as a way to show kindness and respect. What you’re seeing here is just a small example of the hospitality and generosity that’s deeply rooted in our daily lives. For us, it’s more than just paying the bill, it’s about taking care of the people we care about. This happens all the time in Saudi Arabia

Common behaviors in Saudi Arabia, to find two people each wanting to pay the bill of a restaurant or café, the reason is the Arab culture and the Islamic religion, both of which make generosity an important matter.

Since ancient times, Arabs have been distinguished by noble customs such as generosity, hosting guests, aiding the distressed, helping those in need, and caring for travelers. These traditions were expressions of chivalry and honor, which were further developed and reinforced by Islam, making them acts of worship. If you are wondering about the battling to pay the bill, I will tell you a true story happened almost 1450 years ago. A poor man came to the Prophet (Peace be upon) him seeking food. The Prophet asked, “Who will host this man tonight?” An Ansari volunteered, but he and his wife had only enough food for their children. They put the kids to sleep hungry, turned off the lamp, and pretended to eat so the guest could eat in comfort. The next morning, the Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah was amazed by what you did for your guest.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Very normal situation in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries
