Motorcycles Stolen in Ado-Ekiti Recovered in Owo, Ondo state After Owner Tracks Down One of the Bikes. A motorcycle stolen in Ado Ekiti this morning was recovered in Owo, Ondo State, after the owner tracked it using a built-in location device, leading police to arrest some suspects while also recovering four stolen bikes in the process. According to an eyewitness, the bike belonging to a young man in Ado Ekiti was noticed missing around 6:00 a.m. today from a fenced compound in Falegan area of Ado Ekiti. The owner in turn activated the tracker and traced the motorcycle to Benin Garage in Akure. Tracking the signal further, the device pointed to a residence in Shasha area along Owo Road in Akure by 9:00 a.m. Upon getting the exact location of the stolen bike, The owner immediately reported the location to police, who proceeded to the address with him. At the scene, the police officers detained the landlord and the tenant occupying the room where the tracker indicated while a search of the locked room uncovered four motorcycles, including three with Ekiti registration plates and one with an Ondo plate. Two of the Ekiti bikes were identified as TUN-426QB and TUN-901QB. The third Ekiti plate number has not yet been confirmed. During the search, officers also found a locally made soap in the room. The intended use of the item remains unclear as of the time of filing this report. The arrested suspects were immediately taken into custody for further investigation and interrogation. The incident has renewed calls for motorcycle owners in Ekiti to install location trackers, amid a recent rise in reports of bike and vehicle thefts in the state. Residents whose motorcycles were recently stolen have been advised to visit Division A Police Station in Akure to check if their bikes were among those recovered.

Brick New Jersey is mourning the loss of a bright 15-year-old honors student who was struck and killed by a speeding BMW driver while riding his bike to school. The juvenile behind the wheel chose to flee the scene instead of stopping to help. On the morning of May 19 at approximately 6:50 a.m. Jackson Daniel Mueller was biking along Lanes Mill Road near Rhode Island Avenue when a 2021 BMW traveling at high speed hit him. The driver never stopped never rendered aid and never called police leaving this promising young life taken in an instant. Brick police and Ocean County prosecutors quickly identified the juvenile operator through video evidence provided by the public. The driver has now been taken into custody and is being held at the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center facing serious charges for the hit and run that ended Jackson's life. Jackson was a freshman at Brick Memorial High School an honors student who dreamed of becoming an engineer. He served as an officer in the National Junior Honor Society held the treasurer position on student council at Veterans Memorial Middle School ran track for the high school team and had earned a black belt in karate. In his free time, he loved playing flag football. He was exactly the kind of young American we should all be proud to raise and protect.

$A Navi Mumbai based journalist Sandhya Jain (56), who writes on women's rights and safety, was badly injured in a hit-and-run accident recently on the Palm Beach Road, as a speeding motorcyclist jumped a red signal to crash straight into her scooty. Shockingly, the culprit biker has not been caught due to "poor CCTV camera quality" as the registered number plate of the motorcycle could not be captured on camera on the city's landmark road stretch. For the past nine days, Jain has been lying at Apollo Hospital at Seawoods with multiple fractures in both her hands, a nose fracture, facial trauma and various other smaller injuries. Talking to media from her hospital bed, Jain said, "On May 18, I was driving my scooty in order to go to NMMC head-office at Belapur to meet a civic official for some work. As per the CCTV recordings of two cameras at the NRI Junction of Palm Beach Road, at exactly 4.39 pm, this biker wearing a maroon shirt jumped the red signal and speeded ahead to dash into my scooty, while I was moving forward as my traffic light was green at that moment." Jain, who edits two magazines 'Women Zone' and 'Kanchan Kanika', added that as she fell down unconscious on the busy road, the biker simply lifted his motorcycle and slyly pushed it away from the accident scene in order to escape. Her husband, Sandeep Kumar Jain, who resides at NRI Complex, said, "It is surprising that while an FIR has been registered at NRI police station against the unknown biker for reckless driving, he has not been arrested as we do not have his vehicle number. The accident happened in broad daylight on the supposedly best road of Navi Mumbai, where several surveillance cameras are installed." The investigating officer (IO), Kiran Swar, of NRI police said: "We have checked some of the CCTV recordings at the time of accident in order to identify the culprit. However, the bike number plate is not properly seen in the video recordings. We are further inquiring into this matter." Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Kailas Shinde, told to media: "While NMMC does have a CCTV monitoring room at our Belapur head-office, the police also have a similar CCTV control room with them. They are the primary users of CCTV in order to check various traffic violations etc. Hence, the police should have reported earlier if there is any issue with the camera quality." Shinde added that at present, a private agency is in charge for the maintenance of the CCTV cameras. Social activist Madhu Shankar commented: "What is the use of such an extensive CCTV network in our city if the cameras cannot even capture the vehicle registration number. While Jain's hit-and-run accident took place in daytime, I wonder how vehicles will be identified at night if they are involved in any mishap. Both the NMMC and the police have to sort out this critical issue." City based social worker, Rajesh Singh, of Ganga Sagar Foundation, commented: "I regularly use the Palm Beach Road while driving, and have noticed CCTV camera installations at various traffic signals and junctions. In case the cameras fail to capture the number plates, then they should be replaced with better high definition cams, which also have Al tools to do face recognition."$

$A speeding #Lamborghini, allegedly being driven by the son of tobacco tycoon KK Mishra, triggered chaos on VIP Road in #UttarPradesh's #Kanpur, after it rammed pedestrians and several vehicles. At least six people were injured in a road accident on Sunday afternoon, following which the police seized the car. According to eyewitnesses, the luxury car, a Lamborghini Revuelto, was being driven at a high speed and the driver, Shivam Mishra, was allegedly drunk. "The accident occurred around 3.15 pm near Rev-3 Mall when the luxury car, reportedly driven by Shivam Mishra, the son of businessman KK Mishra, went out of control and ploughed into people standing along the roadside and several vehicles, triggering panic in the area," DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava said. The car, according to eyewitnesses, first hit an auto-rickshaw and then crashed into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle, flinging its rider nearly 10 feet into the air. The car mounted the motorcycle's front wheel and dragged it for some distance before hitting an electric pole and coming to a halt. Taufiq Ahmed, one of the injured, was thrown several metres away and suffered serious leg injuries. Speaking to media, Ahmed said he was standing on the roadside, alongside his parked bike, when the luxury car hit him. Others injured in the accident sustained fractures and bruises. Instead of stopping the car after the collision, Mishra allegedly tried to flee the scene. Mishra's bouncers, who were following him in another car, tried to safeguard him but in vain. They allegedly misbehaved with the public. Enraged passersby smashed the Lamborghini Revuelto's windows and pulled Mishra out. Crowd control happened only after police arrived and rescued Mishra, shifting him and others injured to a private hospital. The luxury vehicle, reportedly costing over Rs 10 crore, is registered in #Delhi's #Rohini, as per the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) code. The car also suffered severe damages and is currently in police custody.$
