I'd trust fully autonomous vehicles more than supervised FSD. My concern right now is not that the car would do the wrong thing, but that any intervention and second guessing of all that intelligence on my part would more likely be wrong.

Driving through the mountains of Utah today, watching Tesla FSD handle the drive while I simply took in the scenery, I couldn’t stop thinking about where this is all heading. I really believe there will come a day when steering wheels, pedals, and even manually driving a car will feel as outdated as riding a horse to work or using a flip phone today. People will look back and wonder why we spent so much time stuck behind the wheel when technology could do it more safely and let us use that time for the things that actually matter to us. That’s why I think Tesla FSD is one of the most consequential technologies being developed today. It gives people their time back, reduces stress on long drives, and it enables a future with far fewer crashes & deaths. If autonomous driving reaches its full potential, which I believe it will, it will fundamentally change how we live, travel, and connect with one another. Sitting here while my Cybertruck drives through scenery like this, it feels like I’m watching the beginning of a massive shift in transportation and I bet future generations will wonder how we ever accepted driving ourselves anywhere.

After an exhausting day, it’s incredible how you can get in a Tesla and have it drive you home at 3 a.m. flawlessly with a single press of a button. Cybertruck drove us from downtown for about an hour, then arrived home and reverse parked on the driveway so it could charge. Driving at night has never been so safe with FSD. I could never live without it.

I flew my drone through Austin while riding in a Tesla Cybercab. No driver. No steering wheel. No pedals. Nobody up front. I got in, set my temperature, pressed one button, and the car took me where I wanted to go. That’s it. The closest thing I can compare it to is an elevator. You don’t get into an elevator and think about who’s operating it. You press a button. The doors close. You arrive. Cybercab felt exactly like that… except it was moving me through Austin. And after experiencing it, I keep coming back to one thought... How does Uber compete with this long term? An Uber is still built around a human driver. You’re getting into somebody else’s car. Their music. Their smell. Their temperature. Their mood. Their driving style. Maybe they want to talk. Maybe they’re on the phone. Maybe they miss a turn. Maybe you just want to sit there quietly and get where you’re going. Cybercab removes all of that. The car pulls up. The doors open. You get in. Set the cabin the way you want it. Press Start Ride. And go. No awkward small talk. No tipping. No wondering who is picking you up. No driver needing to earn enough $ money from the trip. No business model built around constantly finding, paying, and managing millions of human drivers. Uber’s biggest asset today is its driver network. When I activate Tesla’s Full Self-Driving, the car is doing far more than simple cruise control that other car companies show off... it's really funny when I see them advertise it tbh. My Tesla is literally watching the world around it with eight cameras that give it a full 360° view. All that video feeds into the onboard AI computer inside the car, which is constantly analyzing everything around it like cars, lanes, pedestrians, traffic lights, construction zones, and making decisions in real time. Tesla has millions of cars on the road, and every single one is helping train the system. Even when people are driving manually, the AI is running quietly in the background predicting what it would do in that situation. And when something unusual happens, a weird intersection, a sudden obstacle, an unexpected move from another driver, that short clip gets sent back to Tesla’s data systems. Engineers then use those clips to train the next version of the driving AI. And that updated AI then gets pushed back to every Tesla through a software update. So literally overnight, your car wakes up smarter. This is what we call the Tesla’s AI flywheel. The more cars on the road, the more data the system learns from. The more it learns, the better the driving gets. The better the driving gets, the more people use it. And that cycle just keeps spinning faster. Once you go Tesla FSD, it’s honestly almost impossible to go back to anything else. You start noticing how much mental energy normal driving takes. With FSD handling the driving, I can actually enjoy the scenery, have real conversations with my family, listen to podcasts without constantly scanning every mirror, and arrive feeling more relaxed instead of mentally drained. The biggest difference, though, is the stress… which believe it or not takes a major toll on your health over time. Long road trips that used to leave me exhausted now feel peaceful. Stop-and-go traffic isn’t something I dread anymore. It just becomes part of the ride. And from a safety perspective, I think this is where the technology matters most. Tesla’s FSD is always paying attention. It doesn’t get tired, distracted by a phone, or drive under the influence. It uses cameras and AI to monitor everything around the car at the same time, hundreds of times every second. That’s a huge reason why I believe this technology will prevent countless accidents over time. I’ve been using Tesla FSD every day since the beta launch in 2020, and seeing how far it’s come has been incredible. Every major update has made it feel more natural, more confident, and more capable. The Tesla Cybercab launch was magical. I’ve spent years talking about what autonomous transportation would become. This week, I got to live it. And what surprised me most was NOT that the Cybercab had no steering wheel. It was NOT the butterfly doors. It was NOT even how futuristic the car looked. It was honestly how NORMAL it felt. I just get in. Sit down. Put my seatbelt on. Press one button. And go on w/ my life. No fear or anxiety at all. At one point I literally forgot there wasn’t a driver in front of me. The ride was unbelievably smooth. And that’s when it really hit me… this is how transportation changes… when the technology becomes so seamless that you stop thinking about the technology at all. The entire Cybercab experience is ridiculously simple: 1/ Order the Cybercab from your phone. 2/ It arrives, recognizes your phone, and can automatically open the door for you. 3/ Get in, buckle up, and the doors close. 4/ Press one button on the screen to begin the ride. 5/ You can work, talk, watch something, listen to music, enjoy the scenery… do whatever you want bc the car handles the entire driving. 6/ Arrive, get out, and payment is handled automatically via the app w/ no tipping. That’s it. Some people are probably still going to say: “Elon was late.” “FSD will never work.” “Tesla is still just a car company.” “Who would trust a car w/ no driver?” “Who would ever get into a car w/ no steering wheel or pedals?” “Cybercab/Robotaxis will never scale.” I’ve heard versions of this stuff for years… And yet here I was. Sitting inside the product. Paying for rides. Driving around Austin w/ nobody behind the wheel. After experiencing Cybercab myself, I understand what the Tesla team was building toward. The car. The autonomy. The safety. The software. The app. The pickup experience. The doors. The payment. The entire experience had to feel like ONE product. Bc if Tesla gets that experience right and then scales it across America, this becomes MUCH bigger than another Tesla vehicle. It will change how people think about owning a car. It changes ride-hailing. It changes what we do with the time we currently spend driving. It changes transportation. And I think Tesla absolutely knocked this product out of the park. What makes this even more personal for me is how grateful I am that I was invited to experience this moment. As the only Korean in the world, being invited to the launch and getting the opportunity to be the first one to ride in a Cybercab is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Seriously. What a freaking life… hate me or love me, nothing honestly compares to this. Austin… Your food was incredible. The people were unbelievably kind to me. The city treated my family and me so well. I loved almost everything about you, except the heat. And Tesla and Elon… Thank you. You have genuinely changed the direction of my life. You gave me something I am deeply passionate about. The products. The technology. The people building them. The crazy ideas that sound impossible right up until the day they’re sitting in front of you. Today I head back to the Bay Area. But my mind can’t stop thinking about what I just experienced. There was a point when people started saying Tesla’s biggest growth days were behind it. After this week… I feel the exact opposite. Cybercab reignited that fire in me. It feels like I just watched the first few minutes of the next chapter/book of Tesla. The Tesla Cybercab launch was magical. I’ve spent years talking about what autonomous transportation would become. This week, I got to live it. And what surprised me most was NOT that the Cybercab had no steering wheel. It was NOT the butterfly doors. It was NOT even how futuristic the car looked. It was honestly how NORMAL it felt. I just get in. Sit down. Put my seatbelt on. Press one button. And go on w/ my life. No fear or anxiety at all. At one point I literally forgot there wasn’t a driver in front of me. The ride was unbelievably smooth. And that’s when it really hit me… this is how transportation changes… when the technology becomes so seamless that you stop thinking about the technology at all. The entire Cybercab experience is ridiculously simple: 1/ Order the Cybercab from your phone. 2/ It arrives, recognizes your phone, and can automatically open the door for you. 3/ Get in, buckle up, and the doors close. 4/ Press one button on the screen to begin the ride. 5/ You can work, talk, watch something, listen to music, enjoy the scenery… do whatever you want bc the car handles the entire driving. 6/ Arrive, get out, and payment is handled automatically via the app w/ no tipping. That’s it. Some people are probably still going to say: “Elon was late.” “FSD will never work.” “Tesla is still just a car company.” “Who would trust a car w/ no driver?” “Who would ever get into a car w/ no steering wheel or pedals?” “Cybercab/Robotaxis will never scale.” I’ve heard versions of this stuff for years… And yet here I was. Sitting inside the product. Paying for rides. Driving around Austin w/ nobody behind the wheel. After experiencing Cybercab myself, I understand what the Tesla team was building toward. The car. The autonomy. The safety. The software. The app. The pickup experience. The doors. The payment. The entire experience had to feel like ONE product. Bc if Tesla gets that experience right and then scales it across America, this becomes MUCH bigger than another Tesla vehicle. It will change how people think about owning a car. It changes ride-hailing. It changes what we do with the time we currently spend driving. It changes transportation. And I think Tesla absolutely knocked this product out of the park. What makes this even more personal for me is how grateful I am that I was invited to experience this moment. As the only Korean in the world, being invited to the launch and getting the opportunity to be the first one to ride in a Cybercab is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Seriously. What a freaking life… hate me or love me, nothing honestly compares to this. Austin… Your food was incredible. The people were unbelievably kind to me. The city treated my family and me so well. I loved almost everything about you, except the heat. And Tesla and Elon… Thank you. You have genuinely changed the direction of my life. You gave me something I am deeply passionate about. The products. The technology. The people building them. The crazy ideas that sound impossible right up until the day they’re sitting in front of you. Today I head back to the Bay Area. But my mind can’t stop thinking about what I just experienced. There was a point when people started saying Tesla’s biggest growth days were behind it. After this week… I feel the exact opposite. Cybercab reignited that fire in me. It feels like I just watched the first few minutes of the next chapter/book of Tesla. And if what I experienced in Austin scales to cities around the country… Transportation will NEVER be the same. One day my kids will look back at human-driven cars the same way we look at an elevator operator today. Something that once seemed completely normal… until technology made it unnecessary. Cybercab won’t be just used for commercial use, you will be able to purchase one for yourself for ~$30,000. With Unsupervised FSD you’ll be able to sleep, do work, watch movies, and even play games as the car is driving you to your destination. It will spawn a new appreciation for transportation. Individuals that can’t drive due to disabilities, age, or other reasons will have freedom. Tesla Self-Driving and Cybercab will change the lives of many.

Men and women of Tesla, read this and really listen. Listen to exactly what Jason, one of Elon’s closest friends, said about what he saw and felt when he experienced Optimus Gen 3. If this doesn’t get you bullish about the future of Tesla, I don’t know what will. This is the biggest insight we’ve had so far into what Tesla is about to become. One of the greatest luxuries of FSD V14 is the fact that it handles this type of driving far better and more effortlessly than you. This is when constant 360 vision puts on a clinic. As a human, you have to scan your mirrors over and over, turn your head to check blinds, and even still, these little slides can be straining and annoying. FSD is so so good at flowing through dense traffic that you legitimately don’t even flinch. It’s as low stress as driving through an empty parking lot. Now imagine this in a foreign town you’ve never been to before? FSD will just cook and you won’t have a care in the world. Just sit there chillin, glancing at the screen and mirrors feeling like you really shouldn’t even have to do that anymore. Could never give this tech up after getting used to it.

A common thing I hear when speaking with gas car owners is that the idea of owning a Tesla is too complicated and not worth the trouble. They often cite not knowing where chargers are, and not wanting to deal with the headache of figuring it out. They also believe there aren’t enough chargers to satisfy their travel needs. This is a myth, and the opposite of true for almost everyone. The truth is that Tesla ownership is actually easier than gas car ownership for travel, and in general. There is far less thinking involved. Tesla’s technology is leveraged to make transportation difficulty fade into the background. Literally all you have to do is get in, tell it where to go, and press a button. Quite literally don’t even have to drive, let alone think about where chargers are. Here I am outside of Philadelphia randomly at 50% battery, asking the car to take me to Myrtle Beach down in South Carolina. After this clip, all you have to do is sit there, listen to podcast/music, eat snacks, and take in scenery. Pretty soon you’ll be able to watch movies and TV too. That’s it, that’s the entire travel “planning” process. You don’t have to do it, the software does it. And after your first road trip using FSD 14.2 instead of driving yourself, the energy you will have at your destination will be impossible to ignore. You will realize the luxury of self driving far exceeds the extra 45-60 mins of charging required along a long route like this. You will realize the trip psychologically felt way quicker, because you didn’t have to be tensed up and locked in the entire time. It’s game changing. This is why Tesla is a leader in customer retention. Once you take the plunge, you realize the truth is opposite what you thought before going for it, and you can’t imagine going back.
