thinkpad users are different

Computers are computers, not fashion items. If you use them a lot, they will get worn, scratched, chipped and even dropped, even if you keep it in a bag most of the time, these things can and will happen. All that matters is that it boots and works.

macbooks are actually pretty durable, macbook users are just wimps. I've dropped mine multiple times with just minor scratches on the casing.

my thinkpad on its third keyboard. screen held up by tape, battery useless long ago ran a Minecraft server nonstop from 2012 to 2014 on the back porch in the weather and I used it until three years ago. still works.

Can confirm... my main laptop is a Thinkpad and XOTIC hated my guts for me sending the poor thing back for repairs when they still supported the model. After the last time, I went as far as to coat the wrap in Polycrylic to better protect it.

I personally have old MacBook and work ThinkPad. Bots are good in their way. MacBook shine, fast, easy and gets job done but I care about it to much ThinkPad robust, survive everything (Even small rain), and gets a job done but I put it everywhere and don’t care

My ThinkPad decided to kill itself while it was idling in big sur It would never turn back on after that and I decided to throw it away

MacBooks don’t quit I used to run my work machine maxed out sometimes even trying to overheat it. I managed to bend the keyboard and motherboard my punching it and it still worked

I have thinkpad L540, my son put a glass of water on it, it still working. Even he fall it and throw a flour on it. I still use it.

unironically the duality here is insane you either get upset over the smallest chip damage or go "i mean it still works doesnt it?" im in that second catagory my keyboard is so fucked it has holes in the wasd keys and all the letters are long gone until it breaks im keeping it
