#ThinLizzy. “Cowboy Song.” 1978. Sydney Opera House. The absolute swagger of Phil Lynott was something to behold. Suave, sophisticated. Didn’t need to run around on stage. For sure, Gorham & Moore were perfect wingmen but Phil was to Thin Lizzy what Lemmy was to Motörhead. Class.

Jamming through Gary Moore’s Marshall JCM 2000 which was his main live head from 1997 - 2008. Along with the prototype DSL I posted about previously these were his two main amps during that period but this one was used a lot more live. This is the amp he used for the Fender 50th Anniversary performance and many more including the Thin Lizzy / Phil Lynott Reunion in 2006. The last appearance was the most recent live album release from Beloise in 2008. I’m using one of Gary’s Les Paul’s that he had fitted with Bare Knuckle PG Blues pickups. This is my first time playing this guitar but I’m already in love 😍 cheers! #garymoore #marshall #thinlizzy

His article caught the attention of NFL Films founder Ed Sabol, who urged Phil to quit playing football and come work for him. Tuckett initially refused, but after being cut by the Chargers in training camp, he reached out to Sabol and was hired by NFL Films. Knowing how to write well, but having never shot film or produced, Phil "learned by doing" — spending the next 38 years as a producer, writer, director, and cinematographer for NFL Films. Over that span, he won 30 individual Emmy Awards for his work. Additionally, Phil was responsible for creating and producing the acclaimed "Lost Treasures of NFL Films" series.
