I’ve been the car behind when the one in front swerved from the middle lane into the central reservation. Leaving me with no option but to hit him side on. People driving like this should be punished.

I drive up and down the UK ten months of the year. I've stopped using motorways. The difference is remarkable, yes it takes a bit longer, sometimes a lot longer, to get where I'm going, but I'm in no hurry. The standard of driving on motorways is shocking. Everyone drives 'angry'. The strangest thing is you very rarely see a police vehicle. There should be police camera cars everywhere. Start handing out punitive fines and 12 month bans and things would change.

Respect for the Car Driver 👏👏👏 Though its completely wrong to do, I can understand his frustration with the VAN driver. VAN is in wrong lane and blocking and slowing down lots of traffic. This is something police should enforce but sadly member of public had to do it at his own risk. If you are not overtaking or going slow then you must be in left lane.

So what we need is the footage from before this. There is only one person committing any offences in this video, everything else is just speculation. People are asking why the cam car is sat in lane 4 with nothing to the left of them - where’s the evidence to say lane 3 is clear? Not in this video… Then there are people saying the van shouldn’t have been lane hogging. The van is overtaking a car in lane 2. Lane 1’s markings denote a separation, so the car already in lane 2 at that point is correct if they wish to continue. Where is the evidence the van is lane hogging? Not in this video… So the car swerves to lane 1 then cuts in front of the car and van, and hits the brakes. They committed 2 offences and nearly lost it when swerving back over. They could have gone to lane 4, overtaken and got on with their day. They chose to drive like a class idiot and risk lives. If you want to make a correct assessment, at least have video evidence to back it up. Everyone talking about lane hogging has no evidence. The police would likely prosecute the reckless driving from the Mercedes driver. That’s about it from this video. More concerning is how many people generally don’t understand how to drive, and don’t understand the Highway Code.

@KieraDiss @Bobbybollocks2 This is totally normal driving behaviour where I live in North London. Since the police withdrew from actual policing, the roads are now infested with a certain type of individuals, driving high performance cars, following a completely different Highway Code.
