Does the WIFI still work with its tinfoil hat?

Switching to ethernet is the best way to eliminate WiFi's RF/EMF exposure entirely by disabling wireless and using cables. It gives zero RF from your network, plus faster and more reliable connections. While Paul's foil reduces exposure, ditching WiFi altogether is the gold standard. Great idea! 🚀

So you cover the router in foil. The router and host devices compensate by increasing transmit power. All wireless devices have active power control which means they will adapt to the conditions around them. Your phone which you are holding in your hand is going to dramatically increase transmit power INCREASING your exposure and decreasing the battery life. An incredibly stupid idea. Meanwhile, the house burns down because the router overheats as the air vents are covered with foil.

Radiation reality check : ⚠️ 3 hours at airport ≈ 1 µSv 🚫 1 chest X-ray ≈ 100 µSv Both are ionizing. Bluetooth and home Wi-Fi are non-ionizing. So it’s really not a big risk. We should rather focus on #obesity, insulin resistance, poor sleep etc.

The router and devices will adaptively increase their transmit power to break through the foil.

reminds me of this. If Paul had 3-4 kids by now, he wouldn't have time to wrap routers...

But then you’ve just made your Wi-Fi useless. If you don’t want Wi-Fi signals in your home, don’t have Wi-Fi. Having Wi-Fi and screening it out makes no sense.

Ditch WiFi completely in your home by using Netgear Powerline Adapters connecting to an Arris SB8200. The Arris will save you money - return the WiFi modem to your ISP and you no longer have to pay a monthly fee for a device that pollutes your home with RF!! Within one year the Arris pays for itself.

Ditch wifi all together and go back to wired ethernet. your phones should already have fast enough wifi to stream video, what more do you need?

You know you can disable wifi right Also there are multiple bands now 2.4 5 6 GHz so you can choose Unless you ground that foil you’re just making the foil an antenna

Mathew's profile picture

this overheats the router and limits wifi connectivity. It may be possible to decrease transmit power in the router settings also

describing it as "RF EMF" won't hide the fact you're talking about fucking radio signals, something that's less ionizing and dangerous for you than the sun

This will also kill your Wi-Fi range along with that. It'd be easier to just turn it off when you don't want to use it

2 million microWatts per meter squared. Sounds scary. Eh, that’s 2 Watts per meter squared, significantly less than a fucking lightbulb, and radio waves carry less energy than visible light. Who is this fucking blowhard?

It's great that an MD is starting to question the safety of constant irradiation of an environment to run a wireless communication system. Wireless radiation is toxic and carcinogenic, but we're not told that part. #EthernetCables - yes! 🛜☢️- no! 👉

Back when I had a smart meter, I put tin foil over it and the power company came out to investigate why it wasn't working properly 😆. I had to remove it, but then I learned I could just get a regular old fashioned meter and pay a few extra bucks a month for it, so I did.

Well, yes, aluminum is a good RF shield. But it also reduces the signal strength and makes your WiFi less reliable. And it doesn’t have any positive benefits whatsoever. So, yeah, it works just as good as putting a butt plug in works to cure diarrhea.

Aluminium dies jack shįt. Use copper or silver. Strip some wires and make a mesh with 0,5 cm gaps. That creates a Faraday cage.
